There IS a market today for such service and fares again. If you raise the cost of the ticket you help get the riff raff off the planes and make flying a more pleasurable and relaxing experience again.
I agree, Most of the tension would be gone if you lower the number of seats per flight, bring back actual customer service at the terminal, an actual ticket agent on a telephone, and maybe something more than a ginger ale to drink, and you might get a serious business traveler or at least a mature adult.
At American Airlines you get what you pay for. As in poor quality customer service? Bags always lost? Planes that leave late or worse are canceled? That seems like something I’d expect from Spirit and not American but here we are!
