1978 Frankenrude 15hp! Long is the New Short! It's Not Pointless!  

1978 Evinrude 15hp required a $427 Stator and it just didn't make any sense to spend that kind of money on a 46 year old outboard. I had a 1975 Evinrude 9.9hp parts motor laying around, so I took ALL of the CDI ignition off of the Frankenrude and installed the trigger coil and points armature on it. When doing this you need to use the flywheel from your donor motor because a CDI flywheel will not work, it's magnets are located differently and the spark timing will be way off. You will also need the magneto cam from the donor motor. The other thing I did was convert it back over to a short shaft. Thank you for watching 👀 !
