I'm reposting this one again because I realized about 25 minutes was missing from the first post for some reason. Earl goes through a few jerseys in this game I tell ya what! Lol.

This would have been a great Superbowl XIII. Jan-79. 78 Rams beat Cowboys 27-14 and Pittsburgh Steelers on an ABC Sunday night game. 10-7. Cappeletti ran for 106 yds against Steelers who would win Superbowl XIII 35-31 against Cowboys. Oilers would beat Steelers in Pittsburgh 24-17 on a Monday Night game. With Campell running for 86 yrs and 3 touchdowns.
Won by the Los Angeles Rams 10-6. How the Rams did have Rookie Sensation Earl Campbell corralled in this game is still beyond me. I can still not forget that Monday Night Football Game later in the 1978 Season when Campbell busted out for 200 yards rushing and 3 Touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins at the Astrodome.
The Oilers offense was worse than the Rams, had they not had Earl. Bum did not know how to do anything except give it to his workhorse. AND, the Oilers did not have a great receiver. Ken Burrough should have caught that TD pass, but his only skill was straight away speed. I can never remember him making a truly great play. The Steelers and Cowboys always had playmakers. Plural. Always. Game plans are awesome, but you've got to have guys who can change a game with one play. Peace.
@comfortat Watch Houston vs New England Division Round 1978 & you'll see 00 make a huge play...probably the play of the game. Honestly, it sounds like you never saw him play bc he was all about big plays.
@@comfortatThe Cowboys could never win without their top quarterback, top runningback & top receiver like this Oilers team did in 1979 Division Rd vs San Diego. If Staubach, Dorsett & Pearson miss the same game, Cowboys lose. Oilers won games without Earl starting the next week vs Cleveland in this 1978 season.
