I was 13 then and went to QPR from around 7 years old, so this is what I saw, great memories. Stan the man, met him lots of times, I remember Tony Currie as a player more though.

Lovely musical backing to a once beautiful ground. Mind you, even then it had changed a lot since I first went there just after the world cup 1966. Both ends were as you see them, but the double decker stand was an open terrace and the other side (Ellerslie Road) a quaint little wooden stand transferred from Park Royal(long story). After 51 years I still go down to see the Rs week in week out, but I spend more time reminiscing than watching the game!

Thanks for the reply and I’m pleased you like the video, just like you I go week in week out and now I’ve introduced my daughter the next generation too, would be good to meet you for a beer maybe before a game or maybe get pie n mash at cockneys, I would like to hear your experiences of Loftus Road as you have 11 years over me in visiting our temple and I’m sure my daughter would too 👍🏻 PM me 🏐 #COYRS

That brought back fond memories but also makes me sad that I'm old now. I went to my first games in 1982 season when I was 11 and clearly remember the FA Cup 6th round win against Crystal Palace, my arm got crushed in the celebrations / pushing in the loft and my arm broke. I watched the remainder of the game with St John's near the corner flag as I refused to go to hospital until after the match. Thanks for the post!

Yeah that day at Highbury after Palace was immense and I was 16 so I’m older than you!! 🤣🤣 those standing crowds were great fun but you had to be careful! Those crowds we used to get at Loftus Road were great, I feel we have lost that, “Rangers Roar” we once had. Whatever happens we are QPR no matter what 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️😉

@@SirStanleyBowles I nearly died in the game against Palace, I was 13 and got crushed when Allen scored....thought it was all over seriously.

Great days. I was 15. Was in the Paddock for the Palace quarter final, near their lot, they were giving Clive stick all game then he gave em the finger when he scored, I seem to remember there was abit of a pitch invasion.. Highbury semi final we were up in the rafters of The Gunners pub outside the North Bank before the game, it ws rammed, that last 15 my heart was nearly stopping every time Cyril Regis got the ball but Bobby Hazel was a rock at the back. Then the walk to Wembley from the Springbok on Final day. I got a ticket for £15 from a Scottish tout on Wembley Way... Great days.

WOW what a great piece of film. i watched my first piece of action from the balcony of the flats behind the school end. Must have been at around about this time. Never stood in the old loft but the first game I went to was in 79 when i sat in the Ellerslie Road stand with my dad. Happy days. Thanks for posting this.

this video means so much to me, my first match was against Aston Villa 75/76 season, I was twelve at the time and I didn't really support QPR, I had a little crush for Arsenal due to their double winning team 70/71 and Charlie George was my favorite player, I was living in West London and at school it was mostly Chelsea but my best friend was a QPR supporter and his dad a season ticket holder and they used to go to Loftus Road and one day they asked me if I wanted to come along to see the Queens Park Rangers 😀 it was the match vs Villa, a Tuesday night game, 2nd home game of the season, a one all draw and from that day I became a QPR supporter going to nearly every home game and ending that incredibile season on the pitch after the Leeds game, my last game before moving abroad was against Birmingham with us already mathematically relegated 78/79.

Thanks for the comment, yes I started around the time too and it’s so important to the younger generation to see and understand our stadium as it was, it’s a great reminder of days gone by but all in all good days!! You R’s!!

A workmate from the Kensington Hilton on Holland Park Ave asked if I wanted to see a QPR (late spring '76 I think) game. Being a Yank and unfamiliar with football I went having a time ill never forget - still am a QPR supporter to this day! Go R's Go

QPR were certainly better back then. Still had the nucleus of that great mid-70s side.

Looks a lot better for 'social distancing' than it does right now. Maybe we should tear the roof off the sucker and go back to this rather more healthy, fresh air conditioned, version of The Kyan Prince Foundation Stadium next season. That'll piss Brenford right off. #QPRhahaha

If that’s really you Sir Stanley, let me say thanks for putting the Mancs in London. You R one of the greatest players to ever grace the pitch @QPR and the betting shops of The Bush. Loved your autobiography btw. More power to your foot and pen hand, Stan. You da man! ⚽️⚽️⚽️ #WestLondonIsRs #THEFUTUREISBRIGHTTHEFUTUREISBLUEANDWHITE #LGBTQPR+ #QPRNIVAL2020

Jooligan Dyer no it’s not obviously but yoyr sentiment is one felt by many many supporters who watched the man play, pure genius, not since has been surpassed and probably never will.

Not a fan(Watford) you guys really need to sort your ground out! Shame really a once big club being held back by a shithole of a ground .every other team has redeveloped their stadium or moved to another one. Even Brentford have a better stadium now!I used to go to Loftus road back in the day.couple of my mates are fans .The view from the back of the loft is terrible, leg room in the loft and elersie road stand awful. You Guys have been talking about moving to a new stadium for Circa 25 years! I know Vicarage road is not the San Siro but bloody hell! Rather go to Kenilworth road.
@Inglese001

@lucas Chapman - so true. Just can't understand why they're still at Loftus Rd. Club's going nowhere in that stadium. As you said - they've been treading water for 25 years. There seems to be no ambition to progress.

Interesting as my first game was 1981 when the grass came up and the Loftus Rd stand was then built (and the ground hasn't changed hardly since). Not cool to put horrible music on your videos but that was 12 years ago I guess.
