In addition, there was also bad weather before the World Series even started, resulting in a postponement of the first game. Put that all together, and the field was in dreadful shape.
i'm so sick of the commentators covering for Palmer. He got his ass tatooed by the Pirate hitters in both appearances in this world series, period! He should not have blamed his teammates for his poor performance. Let's not forget the Pirates cleaned his clock in '71 series too.
