no way get a 275 deh or get an XE284 and bore for use with ford lifters or get hydraulic roller like XR288HR or XFI288 or solid roller. well a XR 274 HR would be awesome, also don't get a thumpr or nostalgia cam. get a voodoo roller cam or solid roller that would be better for sure . ibuilding a 436cid sbc with a XFI292 roller cam but may go to solid roller. its an 11to1 street motor for a 1981 camaro. get a 280H10 magnum cam with ford size lifters, gotta hone your lifter bores to size but you'll have better wear. also makes the XE wear seem like a less aggressive lobe than is. im going to try mopar lifters on a mopar XE grind cam in my chevy stock block it shall perform tremendously by 20+hp iimagine.

The problem with these camshafts is people dont build around them I have to ask you got a decent top end package but what about the bottom end ? Flat tops , domes , -cc pistons ? I see alot of guys who try to run these cams with 8.5 to 1 compression and you run into problems they use tired unbuilt bottom ends or the wrong pistons and it all goes to shit quick

Blue Suzuki yup, Super 40s. It sounds fucking deadly. Big compression helps too. 10.9:1 has a real snap to the sound. You can almost hear every hole when it hits. Thanks.

I'm building a 383 and is like it to sound like that so I'm trying to find the right cam I have a hydraulic roller cam but it doesn't sound nowhere as good as yours and I already have 2 chamber 30 series flomasters . Thinking about pulling the cam and replacing it

That was the first day I had the car running. Carb is set up a little better now. I realize where idle is supposed to be....

Have fun buying octane boost or avgas. Thats where I'm at right now, threw this old race motor in my truck now I have to buy bigger chamber heads to drop the compression.

Yup, block was originally a 350 that was already .030" over, so took it another .010" 385 cubic inches now.
