Finding these trucks is rare having come from the factory with an olds diesel like this one had. If you can find one don't pass it up. The 455's will drop right in. Sweet truck!
nice truck, got me a 1979 GMC Seiria Classic dually 3500. slowing fixing him up. 454 big block 4 barrell Eddele broc. only 60k on it. no serious rest just a couple of surface rust.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. We plan to continue to improve the quality in the months ahead. We're just waiting on some nice Spring weather, so we can go for a drive.
Best choice to get 5000lbs rolling in a hurry with good mileage too! I wish you had a pick of the motor mounts used. I'm thinking welded up clamshell motor mounts.
It ain't no '77 Camper Special, but that is one kickass truck that could smoke the tires for freakin' miles. even with a 350 they were pretty damn crazy. not much weight to those things and absolutely zero traction made for quite the fun ride!
This truck is a podracer sounds like it too Jordan put nitrus in the motor great sound and Jordan this car would be awsome whith nitrus like a 🏁 racecar moves fast thank you jeff and Jordan for this video beautyfull truck
It's a nice usable truck too, with A/C and overdrive....double overdrive actually, cause it has an external overdrive behind the 700r4. They put some serious money into this one.
I'm not going to comment on the Chevrolet lug caps. Moving along, I wonder if she was a diesel truck from the factory. I know around my area if you saw the 6.2 badge on the tailgate, you would more than likely see a 455 Olds under the hood thanks to General Motors pathetic attempt at making diesel engines back then. How cool would GMC trucks have been if they didn't use Chevrolet engines, and instead packed Buick, Olds, and Pontiac big blocks?
Christopher Bagley Some GMC upper level sport pickup trucks has a Olds unit from the factory. They where targeted at the Dodge Lil red wagons / warlock. The Ford f100 with the 302 hi output cloud of sport pickups available from time to time. The 402 hi po was available in the 67-72 model Chevy and GMC and in the SUV of the same body type. Chevy whent with the 454 hi horsepower with a dramatic paint scream and with wagon wheels and roll bars . Don’t see many of any around these days. Ford also used a lot of390 with auto and 3 on tree back then to . They all offered a sport model . Hard to beat a 455 Oldsmobile though
It's a beautiful truck right up until you open the hood! That Olds motor is a BOAT ANCHOR! Usually people replaced diesiel conversions with junky Olds engines sorry, but the only thing worse that could be in this truck would be a FORD engine!
anything is better than a dime a dozen Chevy, which I actually do have a big block Chevy as a boat anchor that I use to more my 12ft Schiff but the block is so light and flimsy and such poor quality iron that even the 300lbs Schiff drags it around. that is why they used 4 bolt mains because the iron was of a poor quality unlike the olds blocks that had a high quality iron with a lot of nickel in the iron for strength, that is why an olds NEVER needed a 4 bolt main like the poor quality Chevys.
Darin McDonnell That’s why 95% of all race cars run a chevy based power plant! Also, why Chevrolet has broken every record ever set by any type of domestic power plant! Meanwhile, Oldsmobile did run in Pro Stock Drag Racing, and the did really good! Oh, wait, that was a DRCE Big Block Chevy too! Lol. Oldsmobile motors were put in a lot of jet boats! You know why? Because when they blew up a month later, they were already at the lake so they just unbolted the POS, tied a chain to it and used it as the boat anchor until the Chevy create engine was delivered, so they could make it a real boat! Olds is so bad ass, they don’t even make them anymore! 😂💥💥🤮
good Choice pulling that dime a dozen Chevy motor, and putting in a properly built olds motor. like the olds saying goes horsepower sells engines torque wins races. I would suggest seeing what you could get for that torqueless big block Chevy at them scrap yard but Chevrolet uses su h a poor quality iron, you probably would not get much for it or your might have to pay them to take it. just sayin'.
