I remember having to write down the address in 15 seconds. The handwriting would come out looking so horrible that you could not read what was just written. LOL! I miss you old Nickelodeon.
The NeverEnding Story in theaters. I'm almost 35 and I watched it then and I'm still watching it and listening to the soundtrack on my iPod during most bike rides.
Man, I thought I was old school, but I don't remember Nick ever looking like this. I saw the Neverending Story for the first time in school- it came out in '83 or '84- I would have been 4! Thanks for sharing.
This tape was from Summer of 1984. I remember watching the premiere of Dangermouse, like it was yesterday. And yes, summer of 84 kicked ass. I saw The Neverending Story 3 times :)
I miss those days too. I remembered watching nick when it had nicktoons on at the time when I was 7 seven years old. I mean Nicktoons. Nowadays when I watch nick, all they show is a bunch of iCarly & Drake and Josh. Luckily though there is one nicktoon left, and that is spongebob.
Ren and stimpy are not even live back then in the 80's. Ren: oh right, sorry. Stimpy you eeediot, you got the wrong date. ( ren smacking Stimpy in the face back and forth )
It was called Pinwheel. I used to love it, even though I was 10 or 11. They used to have the live action puppets and people and show all these cartoons in between. I remember the show being two or three hours long, used to take up the whole morning slot on Nick. There wasn't much to show back then.
Thanks for refreshing my memory of 80s Nickelodeon !I loved NICK ROCKS! And the free french fries from Burger King -- I loved Fruit Loops and I had those free french fries from Burger King coupons -- OMG !!!! XD
Nowadays how come kids cereal don't get to have coupons for a free burger or a free shake or a free pizza or a free candy bar or free bubble gum like they used to?
OOH Man I remember the Honey smacks advert, with the teacher. man that is like 85 or something like that. for us life was simpler back then as kids, the biggest thing we had to worry about was not getting into trouble, and getting good grades.
I didn't realize as a child how lucky I was to get free fries and cheeseburgers at restaurants from my cereal box. Now you have to buy something to get something which sucks. I miss my 80's.
wow like 10 yrs before i wuz born..REAL OLD..but cool...i didnt know they had Nick in the 80's thought it started in the 90's...learned somn new today...and yeah..BK seemed to be giving alot of FREE FRIES if u bought healthy cereal.. FREE FRIES ALRIGHTTT!!! LOL
Danger Mouse, Darkwing Duck, The Tomorrow People, You Can't Do That On Television...Ah, yes, those were the good days of Nick! Then, there was the Nick at Nite moive, that came on at about 2:30 AM, and lasted until five. Those were some pretty bizarre shows! Then Kids in Motion, Curious George, Daktari, and it all started over again. *Sniff* I'm so old!
I gotta say this much, the fairly recent obesity "epidemic" doesnt surprise me at all considering how much they pushed junk food on TV when I was growing up (which was more like the 90s, born in 85). Everything on TV was sugary cereal and mcdonalds.
Back in the day when Nick was great...now it's the all "Dora The Pest" and "Sponge Robert Circle Shorts" channel. Every Viacom channel starts out great, then turns into mush because of the twentysomething empty suits who run it! Same with MTV, MTV2, TVLand, and now Nicktoons is playing "Sponge Robert" 6 hours a day! Bring back Doug, Rugrats and Catdog! The days of Water and Green Slime are over :(
Was that Count Duckula at 0:23? Was this before his show when he was still a character on Danger Mouse? Because this doesn't seem like this was from 1988.
In That City was the Headquarter of Nickelodeon to be founded in 1979 Year that think Nickelodeon??? After of move to Orlando Florida that now is Abandoned

...forgot to mention; am I right in saying that every girl 'twixt the ages of 7-12 when Neverending Story came out had a serious, mind-blowing crush on Atreyu? Oh good god...
