I'm thinking this is from 1984. I can tell because Danger Mouse and Nick Rocks: Video to Go premiered on Nick in June of that year. Shortly thereafter, Nick would have the splat logo we all know and loved for 25 years!!
Technically, both MTV and Nickelodeon were owned by the same company at the time, Warner-Amex. I don't think it became "MTV Networks" until the sale of those channels to Viacom.
Back when Nickelodeon actually had decent programming. Sure, they had a some slime here and there which was great, but today it's nothing but stupid cornball cartoons, slimr, and childish sitcoms. No Pinwheel, no Livewire, no Kids Incorporated, no Third Eye. Nothing that makes any attempt to teach kids anything!
Because television is for entertainment purposes educational series will bore kids that's why this era of Nick has been forgotten because it had nothing to offer
