There's nothing out there that can beat being a kid in the 80s and watching Saturday morning cartoons I would do it all over again to watch them all over again oh how I miss the 80s
I feel the same way. It was way safer back then compared to all the nonsense that is going on in the world today. At least we lived in a normal time period unlike today with all of the crazy woke stuff being forced down everyone's throats.
Yes indeed so sick of the current woke bs society we and our kids are stuck in...not to mention the instant gratification....could you imagine kids nowadays having to wait for sat mornings to see their fav shows and not just be able to access it at the snap of a finger like we do today
40 years later and here I am reliving my childhood. Time was so much simpler then, no phone besides the rotary dial that hung on the wall and had a 20' cord. Who else wants to go back and ride bicycles till the street lights came on?
From the bottom of my 80s kid heart, thank you so much for this!! The good old days 👍 and classic Saturday morning. I miss the 80s!! What a time!! My 7 year old self thanks you for this! I now enjoy a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles at age 44 while watching this. If only we could go back... Also I miss Smurfberry crunch cereal and Smurf magic berries cereal lol
I used to enjoy these as a kid before going out to play every Saturday. Sometimes I would switch between networks for the best programs. Now I find comfort in falling asleep to them at night I just set my sleep timer for 30 minutes and it’s lights out. Thanks for the upload.
What you just described was my childhood to a T. Switch between networks until around 1. (The time they went off) Then went outside with all my friends to play. The only thing you missed was a big bowl of fruit loops or frosted flakes.
@@jefferyrandall8030 there was always a wide variety of breakfast cereals and fruity pebbles / fruit loops / Honey Nut Cheerios were frequently consumed with toast and butter (which I occasionally dipped into the cereal). Weekends seemed to last so much longer back then.
@@jimmyhill7700 I'd get up round 6 and start switching between NBC, CBS and ABC, watching shows till noon or 1. Usually I'd have a bowl of cereal, but sometimes, if I was lucky, my parents would run out to McDonalds and grab some breakfast food for us. Or maybe for lunch. Then it was outside for the day, maybe some Atari when it got dark out.
Being a kid in the 80s was great. Saturday mornings were the only cartoon days for most of us, so we looked forward to it all week! I miss these days so much. Didn't have a care in the world except trying to make it in the house before those streetlights came on! ☺
Spot on.. we looked forward to Saturday morning cartoons starting on Sunday! We wouldn’t go outside until after 12.. cable ruined it for kids. Cartoon Network had cartoons everyday and this began the end .. we are the luckiest generations.. I use to watch the battle of the planets and superfriends like a mofo! Then the 80’s came. I use to watch the Smurf’s eating my Smurf berry cereal.. we had it all ET.. The Goonies.. best time to be a kid for sure..
Sitting on the living room floor in my pj's with a bowl of cereal, and fighting with my brother over what cartoon were going watch, and drooling over the toys they advertised in the commercials 😂
I’m 50 now with the best damn tech ever for musicians and composers, but I would give it all back in a split second to go back and do the entire 80s over again. 1980-89 I was 8-17 years old and everything was awesome.
I grab a bowl of lucky charms (in an original 80s pacman cereal box) and my tmnt bowl and look on RU-vid for this stuff and that's my Saturday morning routine before hitting the local toy stores!! #nevergrowingup
*corporate sucked the life out of McD's, thanks to the stupid nagging mothers that said their kids were getting fat from their food commercials - what's their excuse now?*
Thanks for posting. I decided I wanted to relive an 80's saturday morning and make a yummy breakfast (including cereal which I hardly ever eat anymore) and watch these...nothing like seeing these again along with all the food commercials...now that I know it was pushed on me to eat bad but I still love to see the cartoons lol
This made me cry seeing Michael J Fox in that commercial so young, it means im getting older and im going to die someday, and i dont wanna die, i wanna stay a kid forever...ill be 50 in 4 days
What made it so special and wonderful was that back then, especially in the 70's, there were 3 networks, 2 PBS stations, and 2 unaffiliated local channels. In my city anyway. If you missed Rudolph or Frosty it hurt. I remember missing Rudolph one year and I cried like a baby. Well I was like 6 or 7. But back then the anticipation, the build up for 🎄Christmas🎄, the shows, the ambiance, everything was so different. Nowadays it's one push away on your tablet, smartphone, whatever. That same feeling is gone and it's gone forever. Sad!
Growing up in the 80s was so fun. Friday nights we'd stay out late and then my parents allowed me to have friends sleepover (or vice-versa), only to wake up eating cereal and watching Saturday morning cartoons. It was really a magical time to be a kid.🥰🥰
We were so poor I watched these on a black and white. I slept on the couch in the living room, because we didn't have space for me to have my own room even as an only child. I would throw my (and my classmates from the trash) old papers in the wood stove while and light a fire while my parents so I could warm up enough to go get cereal, eat in bed, and watch these and play with some old toy cars. Edit: I still have my little unnamed pound puppies from 31:00 !
What happened to commercial variety? Now it's insurance, cars and medicine. If advertising works so well, why did they stop advertising toys, candy, groceries, restaurants, etc? When's the last time you saw an ad for Hamburger Helper or a Micro Machine? Both items still exist.
Commercials directly aimed for children was banned by law, thats what happened and after that the Saturday morning cartoons declined into the early 2000's. And now with app-games, and social media, the children s commercials has somewhat returned, even if just in limited forms and not as good and creative as in the 80's, at least seen in the eyes of nostalgia.
I wish I was in the 80s. As early 2000s person it's so boring and unfair these days. life today is chaos and very boring but back in my childhood used to be crazy , cool and fun for now in the early 2000s and yes with Amazing cartoons , Toomnai Anime & Manga shows and Cartoon sitcom shows from the 80s and 90s the old daisy days will always be the best more than today's dark and unfair times now.
Gen X from '72 here. Back then, Saturday Morning Cartoons were just THAT: Specific time frame & THAT'S it. Today...thanks to internet & RU-vid, Saturday Morning is ANYTIME 1 pushes a button. To truly appreciate, is best done on a BIG Flatscreen. Lazer Tag Academy...Loved that show, had the gear. Too few episodes 😭.
Who would of thought that the 80's would be the last best era🤷🏾♀️ if i would of known i would of enjoyed it more and not be in so much of a rush to grow up.😢
I used to love watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 80s like Alvin and The Chipmunks, Smurfs, Richie Rich, Gummy Bears, Foofur, Kissyfur, Shirt Tales, Mr. T, The Munchichi’s, W-Bert, etc.
🙋 now we're talking about the good old days of television and all the great and epic cartoons they use to show on Saturday mornings. These are the days I miss and I know a lot of you out there miss them too. Great times, great memories and great entertainment back then too. Why can't we still have this type of stuff today the way we did back then. Television back then was great to watch unlike today, I'm just being honest here. Television of today ain't nothing like it was back then. The cartoons of today are nothing either, I'm just so disappointed and the stuff that's on television today. I miss living in the 80s and I miss being a kid back from that era too, being an adult kind of stinks. The good old days were from 1980s up to 1999.
❤watching cartoons every Saturday morning I used to be the first one up watching on Saturday's I used to watch underdog and new zoo review and super friends and bugs Bunny and fat Albert and the Cosby kids then go out and play until six o'clock then watching star trek and he haw
The Ronald McDonald commercial just surprised me. The clown himself was 8 miles away from me- Damn, and I know that area well too. Ima go over there and be like, “aye, yo, the stimmy came in. Give me the clown-“
It’s funny how we even remember the old CBS logo “this is CBS”… sort of like “the ABC Friday night movie”. I LOVED PEE WEE PLAYHOUSE.: we were 16-17 when it came out and we thought it was incredibly Cool writing and brilliant. I still watched the bugs bunny road runner show at 11am before my grocery store job at 1pm. Nothing beat growing up in the 70s and 80s!
Shows Featured: Pee-wee’s playhouse (incomplete) The Smurfs The real ghostbusters (credits only) Pound Puppies The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show Punky Brewster Laser Tag Academy
Hi. Thank you for your video I just watched. I miss the 80s Saturday morning cartoons. I've never met a RU-vid site but I have been thinking about creating one for a long time for 1980s cartoons. I don't know how to do it. Any advice would help. Is it okay to link cartoons from other people's RU-vid site to the new one that I would like to create? I would love to know how to do that. I wanted to be the biggest 1980s Saturday morning cartoons RU-vid site that there is.
When it comes to cereals in the 80's i prefered Honey puffs and coco pops. The 1980s is not a decade in the past, for yhise who lived it, it has became a state of the mind.
Watching these makes my brain feel weird. Like I'm being effed with in a time warp. I don't even know how to explain it. If only I could go back to the 80s and stay never to return.
Too bad we didn't get the shows promoted as "next". And, yes, I KNOW why we didn't, but they could have cut that part of the promo out. Still FUN to see stuff one hadn't seen in forty years!
the smirfs are the only cartoon I remmember? why is that? are these early 80s and not late 80s cartoons? theres 10 years here, give us the good cartoons!
You have a great channel my friend. If you have the Bionic Six, Bionic Six, The karate kid, turbo teen, galtar and the Golden Lance, turbo teen, galtar and the Golden Lance and centurions.
