On one other video somebody was asking why the tapping of the drums well it's at a critical point so once the glasses in plays the drums will quit that's my story and I'm sticking to it
hi, just replace the seals but when i roll up, the glass start to getting outside the channel. i have to pull it a little bit then it goes right. is there a way to fix this problem? thank you
Why didn't you use any kind of weatherstrip adhesive? I'm asking because I need to do this to my own vehicle soon and I'm not quite sure whether or not I should use adhesive.
Zan Stuart For this installation we chose not to use any. We did use some adhesive in the video in this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LsSB4Kad4qA.html Hope that gives you the clarity on using adhesives and bedding compound.
Howdy Jeff, thanks for the cool how to video! I own a 1988 GMC SUBURBAN and currently replacing both forward glass run(s). Glad I caught your vid especially the one bolt that when loosened the window is now to freely to move and able to install steering wheel side of run! Thank You MARK in So Cal.
If you look at the top of your vent you'll see a slot towards one side. That tab slides in that slot which stops the glass run from sliding down. Hope that helps.
Derek C. I seen that little slot, but the rubber doesn't seat all the way down when the tab is inserted, and it's the lil slot that's facing the inside of the truck right?
Yes it is. Use glass cleaner to lubricate the back side of the run channel (not the fuzzy side). Also spray some into the metal channel itself. Insert the end of the run channel in between the glass edge and the metal channel. When you can't push any further, raise the glass glass half way and then lower again while pushing the run channel along with it. Keep doing this until seated down in the door in the correct position.
@@PrecisionReplacementParts Seems like it would be the opposite way. I don’t really see a tab. Brothers Truck install video shows it opposite from what you say…
@@PrecisionReplacementParts hoping to confirm. I have to really put pressure on the window crank to make it go up all the way. That corner doesn’t seem like it’s making a good enough seal. A close up video of that installation part would be great!
