On "My Car Story" we're in Chicago IL at The Klairmont Kollections museum on 1-4-16.
We're looking at a 1981 Cadillac Caddy Seville which was custom made for Mary Kay Ash, the Founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics. This car was previously in the Mary Kay Cosmetics museum. The car features a luxurious color scheme of black & silver, and custom body work.
I will share when I found out I was going to video Mary Kay Ash's Cadillac, I was surprised when I saw it that it was not a “Pink Cadillac”.
The car's a part of the Klairmont Kollections museum. Andrew Vogel, Vice President Sales & Marketing shares info regarding this car.

Wow even kept the registration and inspection stickers on it. Glad she also kept the Rodger Meier Cadillac nameplate on there too. Lots of history with that car

A lot of those custom Sevilles were done in pretty questionable taste. This particular one isn't too bad... But many of them were very disproportionate. One that was actually BEAUTIFUL, was the Cadillac San Remo. Those were based on the earlier Sevilles and we're offered in two door coupe and convertible styles... My mom had one of the convertibles and it was probably one of the most beautiful cars I think I've ever seen. Hers was a beautiful root beer brown and had a gorgeous, saddle tan leather upholstery and a dark brown cloth top... On TrueSpoke wire wheels and Vogue tires.

The burning question I want to ask: did any "Mary Kay" Cadillacs that were sold from 1979 to 1985 ever have the Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel V8?

Lou, i notice that the drivers door still has four power window buttons? Were the rear two just abandoned without the rear door windows or were they used for something else? Seems if they weren't used anymore, they would have had a new escutcheon plate cast with just the two functioning power window buttons? This degree of custom work would warrant that i believe! Can you find out what the two "extra" rear window buttons are now used for please? Thanks...

This car has some really slick lines. Never been a fan of the tacked on tire kits on the front fenders but the rest of the car is really fantastic, especially the colors and the interior. Awesome piece of custom car history.

The worst looking Cadillac of all time. My neighbor had an Eldorado Barritz with that chopped off back end. I can appreciate all the work that was done but still a hideous looking car. I love cars and museums but if its in Chicago I'll pass.

I've seen the identical custom treatment done to the 1st gen Seville. (This is a 2nd gen Seville). Maybe this 2nd gen was a one-off but some coachbuilder did a small series of these in 1st first gen chassis. Soooo much work for no benefit, imho. Looks out of proportion.

Others have been chopped like this without the wheel hubs on the fenders. They have always looked goofy compared to the full size standard ones. The 75 to 79s are the most breathtaking classic caddies of the 70s and looked sharper than the bustle backed 80 to 85s.

Things i would have changed would be making it a 2 by 2 car like the eldorado and make the back more stock looking. Then ide drop a massive 16 cylinder engine in it because if all that space.

Ofer Mashiach surely this POS handles very poorly. These aren’t exactly rare - Lou gets alot of things wrong. Cars like this could be seen often in Florida in the 80’s. along with Excaliburs, another odd custom.

What an amazing car! I don't think I've seen such a large hood on any automobile either! Although I still don't exactly know what I think of the slant back Cadillacs. There's a part of me that loves them, and a part of me that thinks they're weird.

My wife was a Mary Kay sales director in the early 2,000's and she won a couple of pink Cadillac Deville"s during her time. Pretty cool to drive up to a local Cadillac dealer and drive away in a brand new Cadillac. People used to wave at us and give the thumbs up a lot when we'd be out in it. Good times. Mary Kay loved the Cadillac brand and shared it with her directors. A great lady she was.

MARY KAY MUST HAVE PIMPED ON THE SIDE. THE CAR WAS UGLY BEFORE THE CUSTOMIZATION AND THIS IS JUST VULGAR. THE FRONT END AND THE REAR ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE FROM TWO DIFFERENT CARS AND DIDN'T BLEND WELL TOGETHER.

I have a '79 Seville, the earlier style, same pewter grey/silver color, but no black on it, pewter vinyl full roof, red leather interior, stock multi-port EFI Olds 350" V8 engine, TH400 auto tranny, 85K miles, interested in selling reasonable price... The sway back trunk lid design of this '81 which has a molded separate 1930's trunk look was copied from the slightly earlier Rolls Royce of the day...

the premiere sevilles weren't FWD though. we had a 1976 full loaded with no FWD. that frikkin car was 16,000$ back then.

This Grandeur Seville Opera Coupe' was made from 78-1985. This was NOT her first cadillac as she had several throughout the 1970's although this may be the only Opera Coupe she owned. I LOVE these and they rarely have very many miles. GREAT Car - thanks for sharing.
