When I originally posted this it was about 9 minutes. Which was reposted on another youtube page that isn't mine. This redo is about 25 minutes and more detailed for the end of the game. It's still missing a missed FG by a legendary kicker in the OT.

I miss the Colts being in Baltimore

True Story: My grandfather got so riled up at this game yelling at the Packers on the TV that he fell over dead from a heart attack... I can see why. Packers defense was swiss cheese.

I’m so sorry to hear that. From what I remember, the Packers were ahead 20-6 until about the last five minutes of the game when they gave up two TD’s to the Colts. That sent the game into overtime and the game ultimately ended in a 20-20 tie.

i started watching the Packers in 1980 when I was six years old. My childhood was painful. I couldn't understand how we couldn't win more than 8 games a year. Coffman, Lofton, Epps, JJ Jefferson and Dickey tossing the ball. We simply couldn't stop anyone. We had offensive monsters. People don't realize it. later we have Walter Stanley and Sharpe. One playoff win from 1967 through 1992. Encouraging your child to be Packer fans in those days was a form of child abuse. I know I felt abused every Sunday afternoon. Ron Wolfe came to our rescue.

Paul Coffman one of the best tight ends most people have never heard of. If he played today he would be a HOF candidate.

He was awesome. With modern sports coverage he would have been a national star. But the Pack didn't get any national games back then. And local broadcast games were lucky to get a few highlights in the halftime show.

Paul Coffman was a very talented tight end during the Bart Starr era in Green Bay, but at the time, the Packers received little national television attention. Starr was trying his hand as a head coach to foster a winning spirit like he did as a great quarterback, but it did not work out.

@@armorybrunotjr.3204 Completely agree, was an odd choice for HC and I believe also GM. He had no experience at either before. Surprised he did as well as he did. Fun offense to watch though.

The Colts were 0-8-1 in this strike shortened season. The Packers were a playoff team. You would have thought the Colts won the Superbowl by hearing the crowd roar on the radio after a tie.

The good old days when an NFL game in December could end in a tie. Can't have that happen now. The NFL millennial fan base and fantasy football geeks won't stand for it.

Only one player played against the BALTIMORE COLTS in their last year in BALTIMORE and against the Baltimore Ravens in their first year in Baltimore. He is a HOFer, too! Bruce Matthews of the Houston Oilers, then Ten.

The last six seasons for the Colts in Baltimore were disappointing. The Colts went an ugly 0-8-1 during the strike shortened 1982. Star quarterback Bert Jones wanted out of Baltimore after too many injuries and being the team's whipping boy. This 20-20 tie with the Green Bay Packers was team's only solace from losing. (Trivia: When the Colts moved to Indianapolis, a future Hall of Famer would wear 18 at quarterback: Peyton Manning.)

So in 1982 the Packers played Bert Jones, the former BALITMORE COLTS QB, who was traded to the LA Rams, and his successor as starting QB of the BALTIMORE COLTS Mike Pagel!

Colts punter Rohn Stark was the only former Colt to play in Memorial Stadium against the Ravens, when he returned (I don’t recall if it was in 1996 or 1997) as the punter for the Seahawks.

I remember watching this game when I was twelve years old. That game was so frustrating to watch! I expected the Colts to lose since they were so awful that year that fans wouldn’t even show up at the stadium. I do believe they played in Memorial stadium where the Orioles played. But instead they played like the Packers were 0-8-1 in that game

Colts best game of the year where the tie prevented them from losing every game during the strike shortened season. The Colts had the first pick overall and John Elway spurned them leading to the Colts spurning Baltimore

Yeah stadiums now are clean slick and boring. Luxury boxes, every fan looking at his phone. The 70s and 80s were the NFLs greatest era. football player would start crying if he got mud on his jersey nowadays.

The player would change his jersey at halftime. Back in the 89s, they repaired rips and used it the next week.

Also, most NFL stadiums were used for baseball. I used to think it was funky to see the dirt baseball infield placed over the gridiron.

@@shanetrimble9265 oh, and they will feel how bad the old turf was back then. The main three were the Vet, Astrodome, and Riverfront. Players back then complained but had no choice to play on it. Today players will cry after one game on old turf. Lol.
