The original color was code 2A Mist Silver which is shown on the door tag. That is the trim, model and body sequence number. the "82" in the model type denotes it as a 1982 model. We got the VIN, we win: 1 for US made, A for American Motors, M for passenger car, B for 2.5L (151 CID) four cylinder with Rochester "Disaster Jet" Varajet carburetor, sourced from GM's Pontiac Motor Division, W for five speed manual transmission with floor shifter, 4 for Spirit, 3 for two door liftback, 0 for manual seat belts, 5 is a check digit, C for the 1982 model year, K for Kenosha, WI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Kenosha WI plant operated as an assembly plant through December 1988.
