Beautiful bike! I've got a 1963 Yamaha that I'm currently working on (80cc 2 stroke rotary valve). I was originally going to rebuild the motor, but the more I think about it, the more I'm tempted to just go 4 stroke and have 12V. Before seeing your video, I was torn between a horizontal cylinder engine or going with the 200cc vertical. I'm going to pull the trigger on the vertical motor, since it looks like it's going to fit better and will give me an extra gear and more torque to work with.
Tiago F I fused the rings onto the piston twice on the original engine. Original motor was rebuilt twice before the Lifan replacement. I guess that is what happens when you are WOT at 70 mph for 30 mins.
mine 1982 125s with upgraded 144cc head. ,,,wow.. didnt know could get that !!!! mine max 65mph 34 t /15 front... could go max 17 front.. but i thinks will kill low end power! i like it as is for town... carb slow jet had be changed to a #35...
A great video and a great bike were did you get the 200cc; engine nice sound and half down the pipe there is a marking on the pipe and it looks like. a hot spot and no it will rot there but a very nice bike
I have commented before on your build. Inspired me to build my bike. Another question though, what size jets are you using? My bike is a pig to kick start at the moment. I have a 40 pilot jet and a 95 main in the carburettor.
Sweet build! Could you share what wheels/tire set up you have? I have a 74 and I'm trying to decide on tires. Also, did you find that exhaust preformed better than the stock?
sorry man, i have the same 125cc bike and i would like to push it a little bit.... to get 200cc did you installed a kit for the termic group?????pls answer me becouse i don't find anywhere else another modified cb125
Hey, lovely build! I’m currently underway with my cg125e and was wondering how easy it was to swap that Lifan 200 engine in? Did you have to fabricate new mounts? Anyways, lovely bike.
Louis Winchester I did not fabricate new mounts. The only thing that was needed to be modified was enlarging the hole where the rear lower engine bolt goes thru. It needed to be widened about 2mm.
CD33 lifan 200cc engine he used. I'm looking at doing the same to my 125. Or I will just get a 150cc bore kit and a derestricted cdi, cone filter, bigger jet and unrestrictive exhaust.
So u removed the stock engine And put a Chinese overhead valve Engine which is poor performing due to poor old design copied from Honda cg models Vs the stock that was over head cam Oh boy
You're SO WRONG! That OHV 200cc Lifan is a great little engine. The design is tried and true...not to mention the fact that it produces significantly more horsepower and torque than the stock 125cc OHC turd. I've done the exact same swap to my CB100 and it's a fantastic option for the single cylinder Hondas. The factory engines are DOGS and usually worn out. These late model Lifans are 12 volt, electronic ignition, electric start, and super reliable. I've put 4K trouble free miles on my so far. The main downside to the Chinese swaps are the electrics. If you upgrade the connectors, it's really not an issue. As they say..."Don't knock it till you try it!" I guarantee you'd be amazed at how well they run and how damn fast the baby CBs are with the 200 or 250 swap. 👍 Take care, be safe.
