I know this is 3 year old video, never the less very nicely done!!! I found a 1981 model in 90% mechanical / 40% cosmetic shape I hope to purchase before the end of the week as a wintertime restoration project. Your vid has just shown me the how-to details and a close up of what a GOOD one is supposed to look like. :-D THANKS!
I bought one identical to this one today, even the same color and it has a factory stereo. And yes, the fairing provides spectacular wind protection. Mine is in the same shape as this one and it was $1200.00.
Thats a cool bike dude! I'm going to look at one tomorrow. Hope its as nice as I have been told it is. If so it will be my first bike. Thanks for the video
I am in the U.K and I made the mistake of buying the CX 500 and adding Top box and Panniers. A lot f people did to get the fist Mid size bike with Shaft Drive. I found that to be top heavy. I wish I had waited and got one of these with the bigger fairing and better storage, A few years ago I considered the 650 but actually ended up buying a XL 250 which was a Trials/road bike and fun to ride.
Two things you need to carry. One a small call of gas. Because they don’t have a fuel gage. And the the gas value reserve is never moved back after use. And the air filters get clogged fast. Like if they are too small. So if you can’t accelerate the engine in higher rpm then it’s time to change the filter.
Hey Man I own a Honda silverwing interstate gl 500 as well just bought it from a guy here in New Brunswick Canada, now when looking at the front fairing of your bike its different a little then mine I have a clock, and some other dials an such in mine....
I have a 1981 honda silverwing currently and I was wondering if anyone could help me find a back rest for the driver seat like the one in the video at the 1:00 to the 1:05 mark of the video. Please and thank you!
my grandpa when he got his was running he got it for 600 right now is not running we like took the whole thing apart to Bone chassis and we repainted the whole thing or was he's working on the front part right now but I can't wait till that thing runs
Nice, but next time you make a video it would be nice if you would project your voice a little more so it is possible to understand what all you are saying!
sweet bike,a goldwing would be nice but just to much bike for me, this thing looks like new, Does the front fairing offer really good wind protection??? Thanks to whoever knows!!
I rode mine for the first time yesterday just wearing a hat... Just took a quick rip up our dead end road... Never felt like my hat was gonna blow off even
