Ongoing 1982 Yamaha XT550 restoration project. Here I get the clutch back together, but due to videoing problems miss some footage of clutch cover, piston, cylinder, head and camshaft going back together. So this episode ends with cam cover being refitted.
I will try harder in future but hey, I only do this for fun and I'm learning as I go.
Thanks for watching!

Hi Grecoa Really appreciate your videos. I just fixed my clutch with your help. Thank you! I have a weird problem with my xt 550: - She suddenly didn‘t start as well as she normally did.. - Spark plug was really dark and burnt - Fuel is getting into my oil system… What I already checked: - Carburertor float is working perfectly and parts replaced. - spark plug is brandnew - oil is brand new (I drained the oil from the motor and not the frame) Somehow the problem is still here: - now she starts super fast, but I believe the fuel is still getting in the oil system. And when I had the motor running and opened the oil lid from the frame it looked like there are bubbles coming out of it. Do you have an idea what might be wrong?

Hi Lars Sorry for the delay, I have only just seen your question. Sounds like too much fuel from carb. You need to check the float height as per the manual (probably worth doing a full carburetor clean at same time). Also you should check that the fuel cut off floats do actually float correctly. Put them in a small container of fuel, they should float high in the fuel. If they sit low in the fuel sometimes they can perish and actually absorb fuel and become heavy. If so they wil need to be replaced for new ones. I hope that this helps.
