I wonder if people at theme parks these days are as well-behaved and polite as they were in 1983. The interesting thing is that the last time I visited Orlando in 2002 hardly anyone in America had a cell phone, but in England where I live the majority of people did have cell phones at that time (or mobile phones as we call them). There was a period of about 10 years where they were popular in Europe but not in North America, between about 1995 and 2005. Not sure why that was. But cell phones probably haven't had a positive effect on the way people conduct themselves in theme parks, although I'm just guessing.
