That hood is a GT only option, and it was wearing all original badging, I had an 83 GT black on black and the appointments were the same except it had power windows. Most of the paint other than the blacked out portion of the hood ( too glossy) seemed to be mostly original. It was purported to have original paperwork too.
Agreed, really appreciate your input and watching John. Finally have a winner on the shirt but I am going to do a drawing too for all of you guys that were super close. I will try an get it up by the end of the week.
Nice car. Not the original paint though. Hood stripe would have been a satin black, not gloss. Also the rear GT decal is in the wrong spot..should be a MUSTANG emblem before it. That scoop was also used on 84 GT Turbos. 7 grand is lower than expected, but it is missing power windows and a/c. That might hurt it a bit. Again, great 4 eye. I have an 84 GT.
I agree the blacked out was not the correct satin but I don't think the rest of the car was repainted but maybe. Thanks for checking it out, I had an 83 GT hatch back in the day.
@@MustangConnection1 Man, people HAVE GOT to do research about these fox bodies, it's like the knuckleheads who think TTop cars are rare, all 10,000+ of them produced lol.
Not "original" paint. The black hood stripe was - flat black - not gloss...even on black cars, the stripe was flat and usually had a border of white tape.
Nice looking car. I own a verified 83 GT convertible verified by the buck tag, 83 GT registry and Marty report. Real GTs did not have the blacked out headlight eyes nor did they have the side pinstripe that were typical of GLX models. GTs did not have the two color interior. Mine is a red on red and the interior is one color. I also believe GTs did not have the color matched steering wheel that should be black. I agree with other comments about this car about the hood scoop paint and decals. I thought the price was low too. I'm looking to sell mine for $20,000
As another 83 GT Convertible owner you are correct. A true GT would not have the chrome door lock buttons, no rear spoiler, the hood stripe would be matte black not gloss and the steering wheel would be black. Not a very good fake.
O.k. then well you won't be buying one , got it. The market for clean Foxbodies is on the rise and many have sold in similar condition at an auction for well into the teens and low 20's, that was my point. So not really "Fucking Nuts" as you noted.
MustangConnection1 let's get this straight I probably had more foxbodys than you I had 83 84 85 86 88 and I had a couple capris to there's a lot of retards out there that have beat up Mustangs that ain't worth shit and I'll show you some pictures if you don't believe me. I don't think they're ready to be in the $20,000 range
O.k. so I've owned a half a dozen fox bodies over the the years too, so what, what does that have to do with this particular car. This particular car was in excellent condition not a beat or modified car and well preserved. The current market for clean Fox bodies( especially 4 eyed cars) is what we are discussing here, so yes this car in that auction environment in that condition was a good buy in my opinion. Stay tuned as I have a video coming up showing a recap where none of the cars sold for less than 15k and some topped 40k.
MustangConnection1 well then if that's the case I Grand National should be in the six figures you people are talking out of your ass and jacking off the prices on these cars for no reason
I have no idea what your last statement was supposed to mean, I simply reported what this car sold for, so not sure why you are so worked up over this. A car or any object for that matter is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There are always a wide range of values for cars including fox bodies. There are still plenty of turds out there for a grand so don't worry.
