Indira ji always being criticised for emergency but this same iron lady accepted her decision, ask for pardon. Whole nation not only accepted her apology but once more she was given high pm seat by majority. Indira never disturbed the constitution fabrics ,rather she always respected people mandate and make the constitution strong. Do we see today? Today not only we are failed on economical fronts but country is passing through severe unemployment ,inflation and tragic decline of growth rate and GDP. But is our existing government ever even thought of apology to nation victims due to poor poor governance and highly declined infrastructure of health and education. This existing government will never feel shame or ask for apology. This is where indira ji takes very high seat ,respected from the core heart of bug majority and mass. Indira ji were and would be respected for excellent dynamic and strong development and pragmatic foreign policies ,which put India on top seat of respect internationally.

The best of all the Prime Ministers India has so far seen. She loved all Indians without any dicrimination of caste, creed, language. She loved the poor.She was not corrupt. She stood for the unity of the Nation, she worked for the progress, welfare and happiness of not only Indians but the people of the whole world. But she had herown faults, the proclamation of National Emergency in 1975 was one. Still she remains the best of PMs of India till date for her great care and concern for the people of India.India had a glorious past, thanks to the great souls like our beloved Gandhiji, Nehru, Tilak and Gokhale, Patel, Akbar and Tippu and many other eminent Indians who devoted themselves for the welfare and happiness of all Indians. They were free from bigotry and communal feelings. Great daughter of a great father Smt. Indira Gandhi has proved her worth. We Indians owe much to her. @Majestic King absolutely right, it was Sam Manekshaw who advised Indira the correct time to attack Pakistan who was later disregarded and his pension and allowances weren't given until Vajpayee became PM jus because after 1971 war, Indira got scared of Manekshaw's popularity that was more than her that time and she did grave injustice to such a brave officer jus to take credit of the victory of 1971 war.
