A fine ride Thier by the veteran Everton miller.. a true patriot..omg.. That's 40 years ago.. incredible..good to see Mr miller riding on in his career
I remember that race so well, as if it was yesterday. In those days Everton Miller, Walwyn Jackson, Gary Richard, Wayne Sinclair and Winston Wilson just to name a few, were all the rage at the park. As a matter of fact, Everton Miller in that same year (1983) finishes second to 'Chinna' Bartley in the jockeys championship. Bartley at the time was winning his first title with 64 wins after finishing 4th the previous year (1982) behind the likes of 'Bimbo' (116) 'Fanna' (62), Gary Richards (48), Bartley (39) and Everton Miller on 36, rounding off the top five. Case in point here, Everton Miller was always in the top 10 for 8 consecutive years, commencing from 1982 - 1989. He happened to finish second on another occasion behind Bartley in 1986 (63), his highest amount of wins in a calendar year. He was indeed a top class rider who rode among some of the best in his hay days.
Everton Miller was one of the top notch jockeys that Caymanas Park produced during that era. Smart, skillful and strong, he had many fans amongst the punters. Whenever he had the leg up on a horse that you supported, you felt confident that you'd get an honest and solid effort in the saddle. And as demonstrated here, he knew how to deliver the goods.
This another EXCELLENT presentation!!! Thank you so much. Everton Miller was superb talent that delivered in the big races. Not sure what happened to him over in Barbados.
This is the only jockey to land on the track in an helicopter. He still has potential but every man has a downtime.. this year will be your time to shine
