Wow...horse lived to 30!! That is a good life for a heck of a horse...died in January of 2010.....Uncle Buddy died in May of 2011....Stan Bergstein died in November of 2011.....Bullet Bob Myer passed away January of this year, 2020. Pretty sure Spencer Ross is still going strong in his 80s!! Early 80s sounds old until I think of my own age now and figure I was always 20 years younger than him....only I'm not 23 anymore. Funny how everyone else ages as I stay young. lol I think Trade Martin is still alive. He was a trainer/driver as more of a hobby. Had a nice little trotter he raced at Freehold, Synthesizer.....I believe he also produced the group B.T. Express, the group who recorded "So It Til You're Satisfied", and "Express", the latter which became the music for Racing From Yonkers and possibly Roosevelt. (Not the "I Believe In Yonkers" Jingle, although Trade could have done that too....he wrote a famous Pepsi commercial and made a fortune after writing "It's the Pepsi Generation". He used to play and sing it on his guitar when he would race Sunday's at Johnson Park in Piscataway NJ....around the same time a kid named Jack Moiseyev was winning 6 races every Sunday with a Matinee license, driving for his dad and Joe Lipari!!! If I remember right, Joe had a smoking hot daughter or 2, and Jack may have been dating one of them...might have married one. I don't remember. Sure someone will correct that. Such a shame time only moves in one direction. Anyone who says they wouldn't change a thing is full of crap!!! LOL
Spencer Ross asked Buddy if he had concerns because of the first heat, and Buddy begins talking about how the horse was hot and he would have to get him to relax, but then Spencer Ross cuts him off after 6 seconds to go into his own 3 minute opinion as if he didn't hear a single word of Buddy's answer to his first question....as 1 guy said, look at the crowd.....I've thought that every time I watch old videos of any track....and look where I used to stand at the Meadowlands to escape the elbow to elbow crowd. Incredible times...so sad to see it all gone.
