Peter Brocks 8th of 9 Bathurst 1000 victorys came in 1984 driving a Holden VK Commodore V8 Big Banger along side co-driver Larry Perkins. 1984 was the last year of the group c race cars. 1984 was also the last year of the 'Big Bangers'. Peter Brock and the Holden Dealer Team (HDT) finished the 1984 bathurst 1000 with a 1-2 form finish with Peter Brock and Larry Perkins finishing in first place and John Harvey and David Parsons finishing in second place right behind the lead 05 Commodore.
