Variants of the Chrysler K were also sold in Japan, where it was also called the Dodge Michigan.

This is great! I was just telling a friend the other day about coolant temp sensors causing no start situations, and the TSB at the end was perfect. Thanks for uploading this!

It's an interesting coincidence that you'd upload this, as just last night I was flipping through the 1984 Chrysler factory service manuals for their various front wheel drive products of the time. (Yes, normal people probably wouldn't be reading old car literature before retiring to bed.)

Man how I wish car's were this easy to work on today.. Oh and with standard tools too! I like that quick battery disconnect. This was such an easy car to maintain.

It was a fun era. I sure do miss my 1991 Dodge Daytona Shelby. Of course by 1991 you could see the beginning of the end of what Chrysler was at the point. Having driven so many of them in the 80’s from the K car to it’s variants, I certainly did not experience the exodus of its junk crowd that we see from people today. I turned the key and they went reliably went all day long with no fuss.

As the owner of a classic vehicle (the New Yorker), are you concerned with the impending onset of electric vehicles eventually forcing your pride and joy off the road?

Nope. And there will always be a place in my garage for it even if it does... But this isn't the only K we'll own. I have a few more I want, including the limo (an '86 with the 2.2 turbo), a convertible (k and j body), a Dodge RAM or Ramcharger from the 70s, an M-Body Fifth Avenue or Diplomat/Fury, etc. And same with my truck, the 2015 Tacoma. It's the last model year of the 2nd generation spanning 11 years, so there's still a lot of 1990s and 2000s design and technology going on. Never getting rid of that one (and it's been rustproofed annually and professionally (fluid film)). So one way or another, I'll be keeping our fleet on the road. Convert it to run on other fuels, etc. but we'll make it work. They are all I have left of an era of things I enjoy, and I wont' let it die.

@@spatsbear I’ve been worried sick over it - I own a minty fresh red 1994 Miata that I’ve spent countless hours and thousands of dollars on various maintenance and restoration projects on, and I have no plans of EVER getting rid of it… my biggest fear is a “Red Barchetta” situation… I *AM* an uncle, but I don’t have a country place that nobody knows about.

@@spatsbear a Dodge RAM Charger from the 70’s with a pushrod V8 will just about run forever, not really much to go wrong since it’s a push rod engine and if something does happen, it’s usually a simple and easy fix. I’d also keep an eye out for Ford trucks from the 70’s as well with the 300 inline 6 which is one of the most reliable engines Ford ever made along with the 260/289/302, maybe even a mid to late 60’s Ford Galaxie 500/LTD would be good as well to have some variety. Fords may not be your favorite car brand, but at least are built with quality many decades ago unlike the junk they make today that simply can’t hold a candle to the vehicles they made in the 90’s and 2000’s.

A subscriber sent the tape to me to digitize and keep, but also to test out my 1978 Sony SLP-300 Industrial Beta VCP with the BI speed since I didn't have any tapes like that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9dlpNRdXX6I.html

I used my 2003 Sony DCR-TRV70 Mini-DV camera (same camera I used from 2005-2010 videos on this channel) to record directly the video to digitize it. Seems to work best :)
