The windshield well grate allows ingress of leaves and pine needles that collect on either side of the trucks vent system. This then leads to various failure modes that lead to water getting in the cab and soaking the foot well. I kind of show you where this happens. I neglect to show you how to remove the grate... which requires loosening the hood on the hinges and pushing it forward. once the hood is pushed forward, all of the screws are removed from the cowl, and the windshield wipers removed, the cowl can be carefully finagled out of position to gain access to the well to aid in cleaning it out. Once you have removed the cowl and the interior trim pieces you then have access to the sides of the well where you can remove the mung and kick that has accumulated at the bottom. You need to make darn sure the drain hole that communicates to the ground is cleared. Using a hose to not only verify leaks but also to clear this well is recommended, just be careful about spraying electronics. Cheers QW
