International's are notorious for electrical problems. Beautiful truck, it's a shame the guy who ordered it never got to see it...that's a pretty paint job. It probably has A/C, by 1984 that was pretty much standard in a big truck. 400 Cummins was also a "big" motor back then...that's a 13 spd...
Sorry, but you have a ton of misinformation here. This truck is either not an 84 Eagle or lots of things have been changed. "400 Big Cam Cuz it has dual stacks" ???? These trucks could be ordered with any engine/exhaust configuration. Big Cam II Engines were replaced by Big cam III in 1983 99% of the trucks since 1973 had A/C Coffin sleepers were on conventional trucks w/crawl thru windows. Not C/Os The transmission IS a 13 over, the handle in this truck didnt come out til 1986. the original would have been a round chrome with an external hi/lo button. Transtar name was dropped in mid 1981, this is a 9670 Outside door handles have Navistar logo. Those didnt come til late 86 A true EAGLE package would have had: Leather wrapped steering wheel and Horn button with "EAGLE" logo "Eagle" stamped into the center counsel leather Interior door panels had Eagle emblems Eagle emblems on outside of doors The only indication of the EAGLE package is the eagle ornament on upper grille.
I like those o cabovers. Back in the 1980s & down they were common use here in 🇺🇸. Today the only cabovers I see on the roads are garbage trucks, fire trucks, & yard trucks.
I learned how to drive trucks in a truck just like this. It’s not an 8 speed. It’s a 13 like you originally said. Yes it has 8 gears but you can split the top side of the transmission. I love those cabover internationals. I guess it’s because that’s what I grew up driving and that’s my earliest memories. I love them. I would definitely restore that truck in a heartbeat if I could. I love it.
I drove a brand new 1984 international eagle cab over. Couple things here. The badging on your truck is navistar which bought international out in 87 or 88 not sure which. You can see the navistar badges on the steering wheel and next to were it says international in front of the doors. If it was the original international it would have said “ih”. They had air conditioning in 84, I had ac in the one I drove. You could have gotten single or double stacks or an under the truck exhaust system. My truck had a 400 hp Cummins, which doesn’t really mean anything to do with this conversation.
Not to be rude, but international harvester sold their ag division and ihc trademark to Tenneco(they owned case) in 85 and so they needed a new trademark name but were able to keep the international name, for the 87 model year!
Did they ever sell this truck..... Looking for a good project..... Let me know.... Realize its been a year an some since this video.... Thxs...........💎🖐🦍💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Are you sure of the model year? Judging by the emblems it looks like an '87 model an '84 would have had a large International under the center of the windshield. In late 1986 IH transitioned over to the Navistar emblems for the 1987 model year. Door handles also look newer (had that style on my 2000 4700). Looks awesome, good luck!
Greetings from the Ohio Porters. Wow! I’m not a Cummins lover, but this is still a sharp truck and worth saving. They still put some miles on that baby! Love the color scheme…I would keep it the same, maybe buff that paint out. These are for sale, right? Thanks for sharing these.
@@brotherhoodofram8967 🇺🇸Thanks for the update and even being able to show these trucks. We really enjoy them, as do many others! Do they plan on restoring any of these trucks or even use them for parts or anything like that?
This would be a "COLLECTOR'S DREAM PROJECT"! I would love to RESTORE OLD IRON in TRUCKS (I'm an AUTO MECHANIC OF 40 YEARS), (different I know). And if I ever get to own a shop again, you bet I'll come looking for TRUCKS like this.
My father had a brand new one in 85. His was an Eagle with a double wide sleeper and it had a 400 Cat with a 13 spd. I can tell you this is not the original shifter for this truck. It is a 13 spd but the original shifters were chrome plated on the top and sort of a mushroomed shape with the shift pattern in a negative relief on the top. They would also have the hi-lo range selector located on the gear stick and not part of the shift knob.
@@greglewis1146 An 85 isn't older than this truck. This shifter in your video was not the style International used until later in the later 80s then on up.
I would definitely want to own that I don't know that I would work that I would put that back together and shine on it and rub bone it and yeah got it but not very far and like I say I would shine on it rub on it clean on it but it didn't shows a heavy stretch yeah but the stacks on it but new lights on it have the interior clean and to text have the motor gone over just you know just wake it up and put it back on the road and I wouldn't work it but I would I would definitely drive it
Thank you very much I'm glad your enjoying these videos I'll definitely get more and yes we are still in school I hope to get some videos of us running equipment as well
