A look at LJN Wrestling Superstars Series 1 and the Sling 'Em, Fling 'Em Wrestling Ring from 1984. These toys allowed children to relive or create wrestling excitement.
I remember having some in the 1980's. I used to watch wrestling on Sundays as a Kid and try to reenact the matches I watched on Our coffee table 😀 👍♥️🎉🎉👏👏🎉🎉💯💯
Neat'O Brother!! I remember watching wrestling in the 1980's. I had a bunch of these LJN wrestlers. I would use Our coffee table to reenact the matches I seen on TV. Thanks for sharing Your Adventures 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🌎🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯
It’s still WWF to me, I had these wrestlers and ring. I got a new LJN wrestling ring every Christmas starting in 1985. The WWF should come back out with these LJN wrestlers and ring for collectors and they can make money at the same time. Even Michael Jordan bright back the old Jordan’s for people who wasn’t alive back then.
@@johnwild8336 yeah, I'm not too into them either, and their poses are really weird, I just think it's cool that Ljn made a comeback, and did a nod to the original figures. Same exact packaging too.
Love this video. One of the most memorable Christmases of my life when my Cousin and I got all of those and the wrestling rings. I sadly lost them all, but may just try to complete my collection again. I had the wrestling album too and listened to it non stop. Good times.
Seeing these brings back memories it's crazy with those wrestlers the way they were made and those poses we still had great matches and years of fun I never had any in the black cards but good times
Imagination was key to 80s playtime. These figures allowed us a conduit to the characters and made playtime fun. Although not the best action figures of the 1980's they did represent the WWF characters well. Thanks for watching.
My Brother back in the 80's had all these figures plus the ring. I ended up having to reinforce the top of the ring mat as it cracked due to the abuse it took for from various dream matches. Great Toys and Great Memories.
My ring was recently broken by my Son and Nephew's abuse. But a toy still played with thirty years later is a testament to how fun these action figures where. Thanks for watching.
I was very fortunate that I put these aside. I have many toys that didn't make it also. Good news is these toys are still available, you just have to begin searching. Thanks for watching.
I never had these because they were just too pricey. $8 in the mid 80s was equal to about $25 in 2023. I didn't start getting wrestling figures until the early 90s when the smaller Hasbro plastic figures came out. They were priced at $5 and my parents could afford them. Loved them.
Thank You for the commentary! I watched binge watched everything that has to do with WWF and LJN figures trust me there's plenty of some serious collections here. yet none have anything worth watching besides just the collection itself
This is an early video of mine. May reshoot this one again as I think that I could pick up the pace and excitement. Thanks for watching and comments. Will be showing the remainder of my collection soon.
I no not often put the ropes on my ring for display. I was fortunate enough to find a mint bagged set a few years ago and do not want them to lose their elasticity. Thanks for the heads up,
John Wild hey np like your video it's awesome I have alot of vintage rings and the way I remember it is red white and blue I used to have a ton of fun with the ljn wrestlers back in the day didn't have a wrestling ring for them at the time but used to make one with carboard pencils and pipe cleaners best carboard was my grandpa's Milwaukee's best empty beer boxes lol made pretty good home made rings although not the sturdiest I'll be honest with you
I like the wear marks shows the figure was there. Endless hours of fun. Mint figures are posers not really apart of the history. Ljn. The day I got the sling em ring for my birth day was a day of days. Get well Rick Flair 4
Those are my childhood originals. Many wrestling matches were had by those figures, My friend and I use to create whole cards to preform them using those toys. Great times. Thanks for watching.
How are mint figures not part of the Ljn history? Lol. So because some people kept theirs in perfect shape they are posers? That's an asinine statement. I have some from series 1-6 loose and on card. Far from a poser. I had them as a kid, played with them, and also wanted a mint set too. Nothing wrong with that.
Kids were NOT "IMPALED" on the ring posts! One report, isa kid fell back, & the post went into his ass! Being impaled is a pen ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FUCKING THING! Sorry, but I just saw this on someone else's LJN Figure Video!
