Here's a blast from the past - "Laugh Busters", a 1984 NBC Saturday morning preview special showcasing the new and upcoming children's shows. Complete with original commercials! One of the original "Knight Rider" cars - the newly built right-hand blind drive car - makes an appearance, as does another original KITT disguised to be a police car - see if you can spot it! Knight Rider Historians I’m not sure what exactly the code of vengeance is, but I know I do have a lot of vintage television episodes from the 80s recorded on VHS. From Saturday morning cartoon shows, primetime television episodes, etc. Can you be more specific?

@@stevecprojects Code of Vengeance was an episode of Knight Rider that served as a back door pilot to Code of Vengeance, a new tv series that didn't get picked up (i think).

Good eye! Yeah, I think these specials were pretty low-budget. They would only air one time and their only purpose was to get kids to watch the network on Saturday morning.

I remember this tape on VHS when I was a little. I didn't know they have crossover with Kitt from Knight Rider, Spider-Man, Snorksis, The Smurfs and Alvin & the Chipmunks is part of my childhood cartoon and live-action television. Wow, Uncle Phil and Carlton Banks are in the same show. Awesome!

I keep expecting James Avery to yell out Those Wretched Turtles!...this is bad but fun bad mean it's good to see them use a lot of NBC properties to spin the 84 carton line up..ty for keeping the commercials in.

The funny thing is the Laugh Busters theme was arranged by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, but 2 years later, they'd arrange The Real Ghostbusters theme music (with vocals by John Smith), and I mean Real!

mercy! the ending was a drag. as i remember though, the only cartoon that got cancelled from this line up after the first season was the live action one with the ape.

Wow that is a blast from the past! 17:20 "Where's the beef?" Promo premiere for Punky Brewster and ad for Highway to Heaven. Thank goodness for Chef Boy ar dee....It all seems like so very long ago. I don't remember this Laugh Busters show at all but cool to see KITT in it and Thom Bray from Riptide with the Roboz.

Forgot how cheesy these Sat. morning preview shows could be. Not a bad thing, mind you. I miss those days. The cartoons were great. Wish Kidd Video would be released on DVD.

Calling KITT "the Knight Rider car" was really stupid. My sister is as uneducated about KR as they come and SHE refers to KITT as the "Knight Rider" car. Whoever scripted that line was super dumb

Yeah it got even worse when KITT and Michael Knight appeared in an episode of Diff'rent Strokes back then and they scripted it so Arnold referred to Michael as "Knight Rider" over and over again. So lame but they wanted to concrete the words in our memory, but as kids we thought it was very lame. We weren't as brainless as they thought we were

@@digitalmagicAR yeah I remember that. I just don't get it. Michael was FLaG's sole operative but the stories in the show didn't have everybody calling him "Knight Rider". Yes there was that closing bit voiceover in the early episodes of season one "Michael Knight a lone crusader in a dangerous world. The world of the Knight Rider" but as far as actually in the storys nobody called him "Knight Rider" it was just the title of the show. And thankfully after those earliest episodes the lame idea was dropped altogether. Maybe I look at things differently than most. But I have an enormous respect for the show. To me it wasn't a fantasy show as Glen Larson thought. And it sure as hell imo didn't have a bullshit premise like he also thought. To me it's a quality contemporary sci-fi crime action show the original incarnation is the best of it's kind and doesn't deserve to be cheapened with inappropiate humor or promoted with lack of understanding

Oy, this is painful to watch. I don't even remember this--must've blocked it out of my memory. Riptide and Roboz...that takes me back. Sadly, the best thing in this whole thing is the classic "Where's the beef?" commercial.

Thanks for posting. I've been looking for this for years. I remember when this aired. These specials only aired once, so it's hard to find copies of them. I loved that little girl in the chef boyardee commercial. I was looking for the ABC preview special with Weird Al and Scooby Doo but I can only find the first 5 minutes. Does anyone have it?

It funny how many times the ghostbusters theme got ripped off for other shows. This show did it and so did Robotix. And I saw a local commercial do it too that I'm sure never got clearance. I wonder if the former mentions worked a deal or if they just took the chance and never got sued.

Looks like it. A bit hard to confirm because the camera is only on him for less than a second during every shot.

It is the same person from the Season 4 episode Sky Knight. The actor that played the kid in the Sky Knight episode also played and voiced Whiz the keyboardist on Kidd Video is Robbie Rist, best known for playing Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch. He also played Dr. Zee in the first few episodes of Galactica 1980, which was another Glen Larson produced show which is not fondly liked by fans of Battlestar Galactica.

Yes, before he hit it big as Uncle Phil on Fresh Prince, James Avery played a villain on a terrible NBC live action Saturday morning show called "Going Bananas." Well, an actor has to make a living somehow. He was talented; glad he went on to much better things...
