I wish Button had buttoned up his mouth so we could hear the music and watch Torvill and Dean skating with less commentary.. he could NOT stop talking! He's not interesting. He could have saved his 'lip' till after their skate and then showed segments. Peggy Fleming was respectful!
He couldn’t say a word about the inventive dip they added at the end of every rep. It’s like he has a technique book in front of him and there’s no deviation
Whilst I understand the rationale behind getting rid of compulsory figures in singles skating, I never quite understood why the ISU scrapped compulsory dances from competitions.
I member Grishuk and Platov fell during their compulsories in one competition and still stayed in first place. the compulsories were rigged. Then again Ice dance has always been rigged and still is.
The bottom line answer is $! Look at the spectator seating areas. Fans stayed away from the Compulsory Dance segment because it was "boring .. too repetitive". Also take a look at the judges faces when the camera passes by .. very telling sometimes. Personally I love CD and miss seeing them.
@@vistaprime At what competition did Grishuk & Platov fall during the compulsories? I never saw them fall during the compulsories at either the Olympics, Worlds, or Europeans.
