Sept 28 1985, Rangers 0 Aberdeen 3 (McLeish 30, Stark 38, Hewitt 84)
RANGERS: Walker, Burns, Munro, McPherson, Paterson, Durrant (McMinn), McCoist, Russell, Williamson (McKinnon), Bell, Cooper
ABERDEEN: Leighton, McKimmie, Mitchell, Stark (Gray), McLeish, Miller, Black, Simpson, McDougall (Falconer), Cooper, Hewitt
Drama at Ibrox. Rangers players Hugh Burns and Craig Paterson were sent off in this appalling violent spectacle. No sooner had Burns departed than McLeish headed in the ensuing free-kick. Then it was Paterson's turn to walk after body-checking Cooper. In the second half there was even a pitch invasion.

3-0 to Dons, at Ibrox, pitch invasion cause the Buns couldnae take it, huge AFC following, chanting Championees, Easy easy etc, great goal by Hewitt, 2 Bun players sent off, Bun player hit by missile by own fan, Archie's "sad afternoon". Can you get a more satisfying game? :) Yeeaass!

From back to front Aberdeen were a fantastic team in the early to mid 80's. Watched them give Celtic a few 'doing's' back then which, like any defeat, was painful but you couldn't help but admire them.

I was there and saw Ranger fans trying to attack Aberdeen but Aberdeens casuals were out in force inside and outside the ground and stood their own. Aberdeen on and off the park in the 80’s you just had to hold your hands up and admire them. One of the best sides in European football at this time

It wasn't a pitch invasion. The police were trying to pull someone out of the crowd in the enclosure and the fans just spilled onto the pitch. Far too many people in the enclosure. It was a rowdy afternoon though. Whole day was a bit mental.

Rangers getting players sent off at home???? Those were the days when ref's were proper ref's and the game was won ,lost ,drawn and played out fair n Square. These days it would be the away side playing with 9 men vs 12 plus the corrupt VAR system
