IN THIS VIDEO I KEEP MAKING PROGRESS ON THE SQUAREBODY. I FOUND SOME REALLY NICE HEAT SHEILD MATERIALS FROM DEI IN AVON LAKE, OHIO. I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QAULITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. I TAKE LONE STEP FORWARD AND TWO STEPS BACK...
I took the little extension off the air box and sealed it to the fender and drilled holes behind the right headlight bezel. I have a 81 c10 California emissions compliant with a 06 5.3
Great video J.C.Smith really enjoy watching you make the exhaust fit. Making sure it has a functional receiver hitch. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith
That brown stuff looks like Permatex 20539 Indian Head Gasket Shellac Compound. I use it when installing engine block core plugs (freeze plugs). Would not want to use it for a transmission gasket.
If only you were on youtube 40 yrs ago when I had my Pontiac Grand Lemans 78, I would have tried to hold on to it. I know it was a car, but this video of terms brang back good memories. I, second owner, only had a problem with the alternator, and changed it out. After that, the car was perfect, a smooth fast ride, shiny, black 2 door with white interior, no rust. Great car. You've gone the extra mile on the customers truck to get to your standard. Good job.
Dear J.C. Smith projects couple. 👍👌👏 Extremely well done again and as always. To put on the new and correct trailer hitch was definitely the right decision. All the heat shielding looks great. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to both of you.
Dear JCSP. At about 18.40 min: This suspicious sealant material looks to me as if it is a formerly common known and very often used window putty (based on linseed oil). Even the light brown respectively beige colour fits. I guess that you guessed the same!?
If your using the factory radiator you have to pull the upper radiator hose and fill the block the thermostat is reversed on the ls so it will be on the lower rad hose and you will fill the radiator but not the block
It’s a good thing that you changed the transmission filter that looks like some type of household sealer. What type of oil pressure line did you use? Even with the heat shield you may want to consider a copper pipe tubing.
It is hard to imagine what that brown crap was on the transmission pan other than household caulk that comes in a brown color. I have a set of those thread chasers and use them all the time,
Great video JC. ,thanks for sharing What drill bit would you recommend for drilling though a grade 8 bolt ? Thankyou for your time.have an awsome weekend. Aaron
