that's the best looking 85 gt i've ever seen man. amazing. i used to have an 03 cobra with a kenne bell 2.8 fully rebuilt motor that made 613/646 on the dyno.
Had an 86 hard top , the 86 heads are poor flow and need to be changed out , best just to put in a later year engine 87 to 93 will work. even the computer is the same, minus the the mass air flo sensor
love to see the pre 87 cars done up nice... ive always had 87-93s, but i love these cars,, if i could afford to do another, i think id do an 83-86.. or a Capri if i could find a decent Canvas to start with
its a really nice car my dream car or a monte carlo SS or an El Camino SS! really hard to find them now an days. but once i find one im not going to let it go or let it pass me! for dam sure.
Awesome stang man!! I've got a '90 LX notch 5.0 that's only got 75k original on the ticker, but your stroked 351 has got me wondering if I should make the change! :-) Oh, and I freaking love the wheel and brake setup. I definitly want to do a 5-lug conversion on mine as well. What brake setup did you use btw? Thanks!
Nice car man! I just bought an 86 GT.. Body is amazing and NO rust anywhere at all.. Good for a midwest car like mine in missouri:) But my 302 is shot and in need of a rebuild.. 351 worth it? If so how much did it cost for everything?
@mxmang I have seen a couple of 87-93 cars that can run Conv. car motor mounts and if they run a small enough air filter on the carb, it WILL fit.. I have HEARD of people doing this on the 4-Eyed cars, but i am not sure.. I am pretty sure the 351 is only an inch or 2 taller than the 302.. but i havent done the swap, so i dunno.
Amazing car, it looks almost identical to how I want mine to look minus the interior and black mouldings. I'm going dark charcoal. That looks like Performance Red, is it?? Yours looks like a well rounded car! Nice looking, great power, great braking and great handling I'm sure! Thumbs up.
Man that is nice. Is that the factory jalapena red? It doesn't look like it to me. The factory red has alot more orange in it. Please let me know I am in the process of painting my 85 gt
real nice car,, ive owned 3, 87-93s,, but my next is gonna be a 83-86,, i like the 83-84, and the 85-86s the same although different,, its gonna be a 351w Based car,, not sure what size stroker im goin with , or if im gonna stroke it at all, but,, im goin with big heads and big cam,, :)
