I misspoke, I said these are manganese bronze, these are Beryllium copper (BeCu). Let us know your thoughts and memories with this putter in the comments below.

That putter has been in my bag for almost 40 years. Lead tape for balance due to my short stature, best putter ever in my opinion ⛳️👍 Love the new studio

Used a bronze Zing for years. Finally found a copper Zing 2 in great shape... and the magic eluded me. My stroke evolved into a slight arc in the interim... Looking for a copper Anser 2 now 😁

Have had a Ping Zing 2 BeCu since 1991 (actually have 2 - one is a spare) - it is my go to putter when I am playing often and am going to play a course with very slow greens during the same week I am playing a course with faster greens. My primary putter is a Slotline 9814C (I have three of them - two that I use and one that sits in my office) that I started playing with while on my college golf team in 1984. The original one has over 2,500 rounds of use and it head still looks brand new (it is always covered and never loaned), although it gets re-gripped every few years. All my putters have the same grip on them. I am often asked why I use such an old putter, and the answer is simple I putt really well with it and haven't found anything I like better.

When I saw your original ping zing video, I set out to find one. I found a zing2 at our local play it again, and upon researching it a bit found out that it is beryllium nickel. Love that putter. Finally found an original Zing putter and love it too. Now I’m on the hunt for a beryllium copper zing2 putter.

I play a Ping Zing 2 right now! Got is passed down to me from my dad. Got it regripped over Christmas and sank a 30 footer on my first putt of my next round. Absolutely love the feel and look of it!

Played a B60 for many years through the 80's and '90's before switching to a Zebra but have recently regained an appreciation of the Pings and have Anser, Pal, Kushin and O Blade - all from the '60's. Love the patina that develops over time and hate to see them polished.

I have a PING Anser and a PING Anser2, both iconic. After the Golden Bear won the '86 Masters, the MacGregor Response ZT 615 was very popular, in the 80's. Thanks for your PING ZING 2 impressions.

I remember a bunch of people with that putter Jack won. Very short lived speaking as a caddie then- people realized how good the club wasn’t! I just have even more respect for the Golden Bear for winning with that putter, not a great club at all.

I was starting to accumulate a decent putter collection that I thrifted over the years. Including Ping, T.P. Mills, Cleveland, a few Zebra’s and some other stuff. I’ve since sold it all except my Pings and one Zebra that is super clean w/it’s headcover. Just something about the Ping stuff that I love!

TGIF!!! Here we go! My wife got this for me on our first Christmas together. I have the stainless steel version. It's still in my bag! The cool thing about this putter is it's like having a 15th club. Turn it around left handed and you have a sweet chipper using the toe. Your welcome! lol. I've had numerous putters over the years and I can't top it. An answer to your question is.....Bobby Grace Putters, Zebra, Teardrop putters, T.P. Mills..............

@@billyunair I have the BeCu, BeNi, and SS. If you like a deeper sound, BeNi is best imo. SS still beats BeCu in sound. But, BeCu looks cool.

That’s a beautiful Zing2 BeCu. Only drawback for some is the light weight.
@billyunair
@billyunair Год назад
Light weight and skinny grip can give a better feel. Be more handsie and wristy not rigid and robotic. Brad Faxon is a proponent of blade putters and thin grips. Great coach. Fax-day. If you never practice use a mallet. If you actually practice and play use a blade.
@awesomebillfromdawsonville8715
Ram Zebra and Acushnet Bullseye were extremely popular but Ping design's are engineering work's of art. Most modern putter's are just milled or cast copies of Karsten's design's.

Popular in the eighties? Ram Zebra putters. Saw a lot of them as a caddie. Maybe the Slotline. Would I game the Ping Zing? Still do, although mine is the not so cool stainless steel version. 2 bucks at Goodwill! Take that Scottie Cameron!

Trying one out now that am swapping out into a carbon shaft from an old Hybrid I have. Feels great, swing weight seems familiar too. But what a pain getting the old shaft off, and finding I.D. of a shaft at 0.375 ".

I couldn’t respond earlier. Anyway. Ping is my putter. Try the Zing5 it’s face balanced. I still love my Zing. This was my favorite episode, since I’m a Ping Putter nut. Worst ping was the PAL 6. All other pal’s are good. I game the B60 BECU.

ahhh....first off, there IS an U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 putter (LOL)...second, even tho this is your channel - "the best putter ever made in the Universe" is the putter that fits the golfer bestest (LOL) I have about a dozen Ping putters I'll be putting up for sale soon - includes a Zing & a Zing2 ... Pings I'm holding on to are the Ball-Namic B67, Anser 85029 & a Zero4. I'm guessing that the 80s putter no longer in fashion is either the Zebra or the Response (both of which will also be up for sale)...I might say the Bullseye tho it was first designed back in the 40's, & sold to Acushnet late 50s...not sure if it's still being made or when they stopped, however it doesn't seem to fit with your '80s era only. So my guess' are the Zebra &/or the Response. And now to wait for next week, w/bated breath....oh, my "best putter ever made in the Universe" is my 1958 H&B Grand Slam Mars 70 (a "real" blade) putter

I love the B60. And I think the sound and feel of BeCu putters are overrated. Do they look awesome? Yes. But, as someone who collects many, they also sound super tingy especially when using a harder ball.
