Hey Guys, I have another vintage football box break installment! This 1985 Topps football box was the most pricey box I have ever broken, but I think it delivered nicely! Unfortunately, I am sick during the filming of this, sorry for the sniffling. Fast forward to the end for PSA Quarterly Special slab candidates.

I have been opening cards for 52 years when you open packs with gum 1 always put them to the side don’t turn them on top of the others and to remove gum and wax use a tissue on a hard surface in a circular motion

Don't sleep on some of those commons they can go for big Money in a 10 and some 9's go for $150-175 I've been collecting that set for 16 yrs it's #2 on PSA Set Registry

Don’t sleep on the stickers. High grade moon and other HOF. Also, the box bottoms, Payton or Marino are very rare and valuable. I’ve broken lots of this product and gave up grading the cards as they are always 8 or lower, not worth grading.

I was wondering about the grades. I have two boxes in my closet and was wondering if I should open them and grade the cards.

@@Cards-In-The-Closet I wouldn’t now that grading fees are so high at PSA. I would not use any other grading companies. Just me.

My 10-year-old self who opened a box of these cards would absolutely cringe at this video and others like it. The cards were meant to be enjoyed, y'know, knowing who the players actually are....not investment pieces.

Anything special you do for the bowed cards to help straightened them out? Put in a book with some weight on top?

Exactly, I placed a flat board over them and used a gallon of water to flatter them for a day or so. It worked okay, still some curve after.

I've opened about a dozen of those boxes over the years you got bad break with all those gum stains don't worry about cards being bowed they will straighten out once you put them in top loader

Great video, quite a treat to see one of these opened at this time. A lot of the cards looked really well centered which surprised me a bit and you did really well. When did you get the box? The first card drama with Marino started this thing off with a bang. Love that Bears Leaders picture and your Payton Record Breakers look to be the best of the box. Lots of cards to consider grading. Don't forget about Carl Banks, Todd Bell, and Interception Leaders for submission.

Thanks for watching! I picked it up a few weeks back through a PWCC auction. I took a closer look at the interception leaders and it’s pretty badly off center!
