This game's a great example of the pure love and respect Ditka had for Payton: the game was well in-hand by the 3rd quarter, but Ditka kept Payton in the game and made sure he got his 100 yards rushing so he could tie that consecutive 100 yard rushing games record [then break it the next week]. These morons out there that try and say Ditka was jealous of, or had _anything_ against Walter, and _that's_ the reason he kept him from scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl, well . . . they're just stupid.

@@byronmcgee4118 He didn't forget anything. Payton had 22 carries in that game, more touches than anybody else in that game. Walter acted like a spoiled brat after that game; he _constantly talked_ for years about how he didn't care about stats, just wanted to win, then whined about not getting a completely meaningless touchdown in a blowout game.
