Well Ellis, this is a nice old vintage machine, back when the Toro name actually meant something. No luxuries or safeties of any kind with this baby, just pure muscle contained within an tank of a body. And while you technically got her to start and run, I did find it odd that you never did a compression check on it, which can tell you a lot about the life of an engine. Secondly, I'd be checking that timing key, cause it could also be running out of time. The backfire's were kind of an arrow pointing that direction for me. Keep at it Ellis, I wanna see this tractor running like a song.

they were tough machines,, I just dont know much about them, I missed buying one a few years back, friend of mine in NC has one he offered it to me when He got a Zero turn,, now its just sitting in his shed,

I had this one stored up for nearly 3 years after getting it from my in laws, I moved it into the garage at the beginning of the year to get me motivated to get it out of the way. Even then it took me 3 months to finally fix it! Great machines, just a lot of maintenance now due to age.
