I was Trying out Different ways to Remove and to install the ball joints. On the 88 330e the old ball joint came apart on the road. The 86 300e the Front end started Squeaking and did not want to go through having the car Towed home. I wanted to see how the Auto Zone Loaner Tools worked out. Thanks for watching my Home Movies
For me it was easier to use a Press. Had more Control over the Removal instead of Hitting it with a Hammer. Auto Zone in My area has a Free Loan a Tool program. Use your charge card for a deposit.
