Rather than pull the CV axle I cut off a useless piece of the engine block. Once that was gone the alternator came out easy. Saved about 2 hours worth of work. Stay to the end to see what part I cut off.
No why would it? Its just a hunk of useless metal that was removed. It had no function what so ever look at the photo at the end of the video.. Its circled in red. It does nothing and in my opinion is either for casting the block or some other sort of alignment. It was the only thing keeping the alternator from coming right out. So off it came. Cut the time down to about 30 minutes as opposed to pulling the front axle, disconnecting the strut, caliper and the tie rods. 2 cuts and a hammer whack and its done in 30 minutes.
