I had the black mustang one from the late 80s my grandmother bought me but never got to use it because nobody wanted to buy me the damn battery,lol,so ended up losing it in the years,i always wanted to see how fast it was,finally someone posted it,thanks and great video.

That’s pretty cool! I still have my first RC car from 1987 I believe. It’s a Kyosho Cosmo. It’s been broke for years and I can’t find the parts I need for a decent price.
it should say what voltage it runs at in the batterybox or on the door. I suspect it was 9.6v or maybe even 12v. so you should be able to likely run it on a 3s pack, maybe 4s if its rated at 12v.
