Great game! The Rams struggled a lot in ‘87, but this win helped the team to somewhat redeem themselves. After a 1-7 start, Los Angeles won 5 of its remaining 7 games…including a road win over the eventual Super Bowl champions.
The Washington Redskins did lise the game and finished the short strike year 11-4 record 2 playoff victories over Chicago Bears 21-17 followed by over Minnesota Vikings 17-10 and Super Bowl victory here in San Diego over Denver Broncos 42-10 victory map Doug Williams 4 td passes for 340 yes and Tommy Simth 203 yes rushing.
I remember this game!! I had a very hard time believing that the Rams had actually beat the Redskins in this game!! I believe this was a very big upset!! Also, I remember this game was during the NFL strike season, which reduced this season from 16 regular season game to 15. As a result, Rams finished 6-9 this season, but the Redskins finished 11-4 & end up winning the Super Bowl this same season.
I just remember Monk dropping a pass at the end of the game in the endzone and not being happy as I came out of my closet where I had to watch the game on a tiny Black and White because moms ruin football and believe in bed times.
@@johnliberty3647 me to man I watched the game on a red black and white 📺 it was only about a 10 inch TV. I was sent to bed around 9pm and had to sneak the game in my bedroom. I was extremely frustrated with the redskins defense and there inability to stop the run.
@@davidlopez-rl4sh a year of many struggles and still ended up with "the quarter" at the end of the season. Great season, probably my favorite of the superbowl teams because of all the adjustments needed that season. Starters for the first game, Schroeder, Rogers, Monk/Clark. Their back ups got all the Super Bowl records. Greens serious injury in Chicago and a week later he shut down the hottest WR in the NFL at the time (Anthony Carter). Alvin Walton, still unknown outside of Redskins fans, shutting down the run with great open field tackling despite being undersized. He got Tums Neutralizer of the year. Even the Replacement players were legendary with their ability to defeat half the starters on the cowboys including HOF players. Gibbs was the best.
@@davidlopez-rl4sh I forgot, I believe he may have gotten injured then replaced by Danny Copeland in 1991. Wikipedia says he won a grey cup in the CFL but for a team they had in Baltimore when the CFL expanded into the US for a few years in the 1990's. He was one of my favorites.
