Iconic Sound. The Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back Exhaust System is one of the most iconic and popular systems ever created for the original 5.0L Mustang. With its two chambered Super 44 Series Mufflers, this performance system has a deep throaty muscle car exhaust note that transforms your Foxbody from muted to voracious. Made from a combination of aluminized and stainless steel with two polished steel tips, this American Thunder series cat-back is an aggressive sounding and looking exhaust system made for 1987-1993 Foxbody 5.0L Mustangs.
16-gauge Aluminized Steel. Manufactured from 2.5” 16-gauge aluminized steel tubing, the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back includes Super Series 44 Mufflers made from aluminized steel and featuring patented Delta Flow technology and internal metal baffling to shape sound and flow. Both Mufflers also feature Flowmaster’s signature black paint for longevity and improved corrosion-resistance. The large OEM-style 2.5” stainless steel tips polished to a brilliant shine are etched wit h the Flowmaster logo for true muscle car style.
Bolt-On Installation. Some cutting to the factory system may be required; otherwise the American Thunder System will easily bolt in place using the factory rubber hangers. This iconic Cat-Back System is a bolt-on upgrade that can be completed with basic hand tools within approximately two hours.

Just wanted to comment,i have a 89 and a 91 both with Flowmasters, on my 91 my Flowmasters in dump form have been under my car since 1998! I decided to put a all catback system, i put a 347 stroker back in November and for some reason it is LOUD compared to the old 302 so i decided to put some pipes back on it,ill be doing that this weekend. Reason i wanted to post this comment was to attest to the longevity of the mufflers,they have been on my car for 25 years and have zero holes,I'm actually gonna put them up for sale, i might ask 40 bucks for the pair and ill make someones day that might be starting in the hobby with little cash,they are in full dump form, ready to be installed,they still sound good.

Ha ha ha, I've done it many times, not hard at all, the hairy one is the H pipe, it's heavy and up in the collectors it's a tight fit and sometimes it gets caught and can be a pain but I've done the back ones in a couple of hours taking my time, my garage is kinda inclined so I'll do one side ,let it down and then do the other,it's not bad at all.
