If there was one thing Karnov taught us, it was that being a fire breathing fat man who goes on adventures, battles terrible monsters, and eventually gets the treasure, is a life we should all be aiming for.
I was 5 years old when I saw this game on arcade hall. I was so mesmerized watching someone play I forgot about time. And it was deep into evening time so my parents called the police on me. Because it was too late and they thought something bad happened to me. Very trippy memories. :)
something similar happened to me. With Mario World, at a friend's house. I was 8 years old, and i was found around 1am, i never gave anyone a heads up, so my parents went insane and also called the police
@@cheshire_skatkat9093Yes. The ending on the NES says, “Congratulations! The End.” First time I beat it I couldn’t believe it. Thought it was funny, actually.
I don't think the guy in Combatribes is Karnov, its appearance is a bit different and Combatribes is a Technōs Japan game. Bad Dudes and Karnov's Revenge are for sure.
My local arcade had this, and the first few seconds of music are burned into my memory. I never knew that the ladder was re-usable until years later. Also, those yellow humanoids that would teleport in out of nowhere remind me of the 'Starman' enemy from Earthbound, what with the pose and all.
FIRE!!!! FIRE!!!! BALLOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!! KARNOV WINS!!! The final boss from Fighter's history and Karnov's revenge a.k.a Fighters History Dynamite. And the first boss from BAD DUDES.
I remember this game back in the day but I was little so it didn't appeal to me at all but I will say this is a great game. So many different elements to it.
Not only did they not use him as a mascot-they seemed to have no interest rereleasing it. Hopefully hamster does now that they are putting out Data East games.
According to the Japanese Famicom version, there are demons on earth and God sends Karnov to earth to destroy them, as he was a powerful man when he was alive, but also an evil man. This was his chance to redeem himself and get into Heaven, or something along those lines.
When I was a kid playing a beat'em up with a friend we did reach a boss in one game whom seemed to use his name, appearance, and fire power. You might be correct about it being Bad Dudes. Thanks for that reference.
This game. This #$&+ing game. Well, I tried playing back in the day. Little did I know you had to spend a small fortune in quarters to trial and error this game. @#$&ing game. Decades later and I'm still mad.🤣
