Fixing a common Ford window problem when the motor cranks but the window won't move.
This exact fix should be the same through 1979-1991 Panther Platform cars
1979-1991 Lincoln Town car
1979-1991 Mercury Grand Marquis
1979-1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria
I've seen this problem happen with the trucks too, bullnoses and bricknoses and whatnot, should be the same principle.
Sorry for the formatting issues, a phone camera isn't the best thing to use when I always need two hands.

I got my driver's license in 1992 & my first car was a 1985 Ford LTD crown Victoria and it was the same exact color inside & out of the grand marquis in this video. I named her blue bird lol. I bought it from the original owner with only 45,463 miles on it original tires spark plugs wires original everything & still had the new car smell lol. It was garaged the whole life and it was in mint condition like the day it was bought new. I paid $5,000 for it. It was my favorite car ever out of everything I've had since. I'd love to own another one some day. Best riding car. I miss the panther platform. I've owned a lot of them lol

Thank you for this video. Just got an 89 vic and the rear driver windows motor works but will not raise or lower the window.

You can get a can of PB blaster silicone lubricant & spray it in the window seals where it slides up and down. Spray it use microfiber rag and flat head screw driver and rub it in the window seals up down then spray PB blaster dry lube and repeat the process then roll the window up and down a few times so it gets absorbed in the seals and u will notice they go up and down much faster and better. That's because over time the seals get dried out in there and it can cause the windows and go up really slow or come down really slow but once you do what I recommend it'll take care of that problem cuz eventually if you don't it puts strain on the window motors

@@billymcmanus9642 I did end up finding the problem. The window gear plugs had disintegrated inside the motor. I took the window motor apart and cleaned it with carb or brake clean and re-greased it with white lithium grease and put on the 3 new gear plugs. Window works like new now

When the window gets stuck at the bottom if you strike the door at just the right place it will often work to get the window up. Sort of down and in the middle but more towards the front.

Thank you my man for the video never would’ve guessed what was wrong with mine. Mine was the passenger front did not go up or down, but was pretty similar to the back door had to drill two holes and the third one had to clearance a hole but was not too bad and now it works.
