Could not ko haugen, Ramirez, et al. Chávez did. Afrocentrists like you are the reason Blacks are not liked ANYWHERE.
3:40 No counter to the jab from Whitaker in the rematch he countered almost every jab. Notice how Whitaker`s lead foot is inside Jose`s lead foot when he lands the jab at 3:55, doing this creates a great angle for southpaw to land the jab, I`m comparing Pernell`s jab to Floyd`s because of a boxing read spoke on the subject.

Good Decision , Ramirez clearly won the fight , if you want the title take it from the champ , don't back pedal and run then complain about the decision.
Pernell won this fight....got robbed in classic boxing way, "bribed judges".....no way you can justify giving 10 rounds to Ramirez (which one judge did at 118)who barely hit his target all night.
I saw round #1 then skipped to round #5,...….Whitaker won the first round and the announcers said that Whitaker won the first 4 rounds. I'll give him that, but Ramirez won every round 5 thru 12. Whitaker landed a few jabs, then he would stand still once or twice each round throwing a 4 or 5 punch combination. The rest of the round Ramirez chased and was swatting Whitaker repeatedly. As the rounds went by, Ramirez landed more and more, Whitaker fought less and less. The 12th round was the only round of the last 8 that Whitaker put up a decent fight, but he lost that round as well. If a guy is going to back peddle at full speed every round, he can only win by dominating the punches landed category, and Whitaker did not. Ramirez never stopped punching and was landing at least 35% of his punches. Whitaker was getting tired and his accuracy dropped each round. He was so tired that he began to grab and hold, while Ramirez tried to get free to throw more punches. How can you reward a guy that's trying to avoid fighting and isn't landing as many punches? The argument about whether a guy is running or boxing to 'hit and not get hit' comes down to punches landed. If that category is fairly even, the aggressor should win for making the fight. In this fight Ramirez was consistently landing more punches in the last 8 rounds. A 'runner' has to do something to make up for trying to avoid fighting. He's not avoiding punches in the true sense of the word, rather, he's trying to avoid fighting all together. If you stand face to face, you avoid punches by blocking them, moving your head, by positioning and by beating the opponent to the punch. That's what you call out boxing the guy. Moving around at damn near full speed isn't out boxing anyone, it's running to avoid fighting. Whitaker wasn't moving quickly to gain position nor to land punches, he was moving to avoid fighting. If he had his choice, he would turn around and run forward, trying to win a foot race. Stopping once in awhile to land one or two punches in a 4 or 5 punch flurry isn't enough to beat a guy that wants to fight and is landing punches steadily round after round. I had it 116-112 for Ramirez, and I'm neutral on the fighters, I like them both.
Sorry, but I Emphatically Disagree. The first of a series of Robberies which jaded the career of PERNELL. PERNELL WHITAKER made this look too easy. Mexican fans swear he wouldn't come forward, but they didn't understand his angles, and ring generalship. RAMIREZ kept coming Forward, but DID NOT CORNER HIM OR CUT OFF THE RING. WHITAKER, Moving backwards, utilized the same approach vs Chavez years later, in that he pumped the jab all night long, and made him miss. HE WASN'T RUNNING, nor in the alternative, wasn't Avoiding Fighting. He Circled and jabbed, and left before damage hit. STICK AND MOVE. STICK AND MOVE. Way too quick for RAMIREZ. They way he made Ramirez Miss was the same thing that happened five years later in San Antonio.
