Was that the original axle? And what did you end up installing back in there? I replaced one of the axles on my '94 pickup back in 2015 when I bought the truck as the boots were shot and the axle clicked when turning (in 4wd of course). I put in a new axle from RockAuto, can't remember the brand but I wouldn't be surprised if they're all about the same. I haven't used 4wd all that much since then, but that axle has grease on the boot here 7 years later so I'm replacing it again. This time I'm using a reman axle from RockAuto, but idk if it's a reman'd OEM axle or not, but that might not matter since I suppose the boots might be the most susceptible part to fail.
Hey buddy I have a question. I've got the axle undone but can't get it out of spindle. Is there something I'm missing, should it just slide out of back? Thanks
@@queefersutherland8495 Can’t remember for sure as it’s been years since I replaced the axle, but there might’ve been a snap ring on the axle stub that has to be removed. Cause otherwise yeah it should slip out of the spindle if you’ve got it disconnected from the front diff flange.
It seems that you left out a pretty important step to this job, that axle isnt coming out without removing the snap ring at the hub side. Im not trolling , just trying to help bud.
