Thank you for your instructive comments. Those reffined V8 set for the W126 could be complex to tune, but weel done, this Mercedes is wonderful car wonderful live with. Don't give up!
When ever you find a EOG Module under 1200$ get it they cost a lot but if you find a used one out for parts or scraps it’s a easy to remove part that is a life saver if you can’t find the problem
Is it possible that I saw your car a day or two before new years eve at Midnapore shopping centre? There was same colour SEL parked and thought it's quite cool somebody daily drives it in winter.
You have to take the window motors out and hit the pin to mushroom it’s on the arm but you have to grind the old pin off but I think they may have new one out now
Sensible comments about DIY repairs. $4k/year in repair/maintenance is still quite a King's ransom for a pristine low mileage car, albeit less than the payments for a Toyota Camry lease.
I was a bit unlucky with this one, and I didn't drive it much. I think if I keep it for another 5 years the costs (per year and per km) will come down quite a bit. Looking through previous spreadsheets of the other W126's that I've had, this one has cost the most and has the fewest (by a long way) km on it...
Yeah it's a little steep. This is $C, and things are more expensive here than in the US. I've spent about $25k to go 50,000km (about 30k miles), over 8 years, for an average cost of $.50 per km, or about $3k per year. One of my other vehicles is a 2019 Toyota Tundra. I've only spent a couple of thousand dollars maintaining it, and most of that was winter tires. It has gone about 30,000km in the two years that I've owned it, and depreciated about $15,000, or about $.50 per km...
@@slrroman hi Lawrence. Im also from Canada, toronto. I just acquired a 300SE and a 560SEL. Im restoring my 560SEL now. Thats a lot for maintenance. I bought my 560SEL for $4500 and spent $4500 for tune ups, brakes, transmission flush, OVP, valve seals, all the engine and transmission mounts. Euro headlights, and a bit of body work. I will pick up this week. My mechanic told me, it should be very reliable after this. I will do the paint this winter for a few spots of rust for only $3000. And the next one is complete thorough changing of all seals and stuff for the engine for $5000. So thats still very minimal. But total all of that, thats well sorted out mercedes. And this is no joke mechanic and bodyshop. He works for Mercedes.
