A flip on the "not your father's Oldsmobile" campaign
This commercial aired in February 11th, 1989. It appeared during a broadcast of "ABC's Wide World of Sports" on WJZ Channel 13. WJZ was the ABC Affiliate in Baltimore Maryland (Now The CBS affiliate).

@@Capcoor oh, I see what you're asking. No it's not really going to hurt the engine mechanically unless actual water gets sucked in through the intake. But even fresh water will damage an engine if it is sucked in through the intake. The thing that driving on the beach isn't good for though is the steel. The salt water will speed up the corrosion/rust process on anything on the car that's metal unless a person washes the car really good after. And even if a person doesn't wash the car, it still takes years for the corrosion and rust to take it's toll. I live on the peninsula where the this commercial was filmed and it was sort of a rite of passage to do brodies/donuts/cookies when kids get their license to drive.
