He will forever be known as one of those artist who never sold himself out and was down with the revolution. He knew what was really happening while everyone else let the world conspire into corruption and tyranny. I wonder how disappointed he was that the revolution was stomped out long ago

I see mostly crack eyes, what a shame, great songs about addiction though. Takes one to know one.

Despite his personal struggles his mind remained razor sharp and he had an incredible insight. I miss having his voice in the world.

He was an extraordinarily gifted artist who shared many profound intelligent thoughts with us on his conscious-raising albums, and during this interview alone...loved his music--particularly "Secrets" with Brian Jackson in 1980. those who may insist in seeing “colour blindness” must heed to recognize of such an outlook, while inconsequential as a matter of individual opinion, and in conception, intended positively, as an all encompassing, indiscriminate embrace of all humanity, as a collectivized internal understanding, we must be able to acknowledge still that our world is not a unilaterally defined conception with a solitary set of truth & reality for all, but rather an ever-expanding multilateralism, cultivated , upheld & continually expanded on through the collective jigsaw of humanity, to which each & every individual adds a piece. Moreover, to be colour blind collectively or as a sole outwardly expression of worldly comprehension, is not an authentically representative outlook of the world we all exist in, and the one we wish to uphold and perpetuate, and therefore is an ineffective resolve in relation to addressing adequately and coming to terms with the persistent race “issue” underlying humanity. To be colour blind in theory is only representative of one’s uncertainty, one’s unfamiliarity with any or all aspects of the COLLECTIVE understanding, love, appreciation, while colour blindness in practice is effectively concise a remedy as merely looking away from, covering one’s eyes, essentially choosing to avoid, disregard, or shield oneself from the problem altogether, drawing a barrier between addressing the problem and coming to terms with collective understanding, growth, healing. In practicing colour blindness expressively, we run the risk of spurring progression, compassion, and appreciation at an individual level. No sole individual, not any single one of us can wholeheartedly love & embrace EVERY”ONE/1”, the COLLECTIVE HUMANITY, without first acknowledging & embracing EACH, and EVERY INDIVIDUAL, for everything they offer, everything they are and everything they aren’t, everything overlapping or occupying space of its own. What we see face to face, one on one, we’d never concisely be able to love, embrace, respect, & appreciate as a collective.
