My son has recently gotten into laserdiscs and found this little gem. The majority of the disc is boring, so I edited it out. What you see here is the last segment of the one sided disc. I love technology and laserdisc will always be a favorite.

Amazing seeing this technology, that while today is almost forgotten, was groundbreaking in the 80s and 90s, for it would pave the way to the CD, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray and finally Thumb Drives and SD / Micro SD capable of storing up to 1TB. LaserDisc was really under- appreciated.

The size of that TV haha. The 90s never seemed so far away.

I bet this piece of kit was very pricey back in the day. I still own a Pioneer Laserdisc player, but mine isn't quite as featured packed as this Panasonic LD Player. If I ever find one of these in the wild, I'm definitely picking it up for sure! 👍🏾

She's so relieved the movie continued. Movies fit onto one side of a DVD, but I have DVDs that have content on two sides and my DVD player don't flip.

How did you reduce the analog video noise to such a degree that it is virtually non-existent? Is your player just that great or did you apply some post-production filters to obtain such a virtually noise-free image?

That last model looks like a treat to play slightly-but-not-too-much-degraded discs on! Would love to know if anyone uses it and if it gives better results than lower-tier ones.

I have a LX900 for sale and it does correct some degraded discs with it's TBC. It's almost the same as the LX1000. I had a few bad Discovision discs that where terrible.

It took way to long to get big screen TV's 📺the laserdisc player is bigger than the TV and I don't know why it took sixty years for big wide screen TV's 📼

I still have 2 LD players - Both Pioneer. I don't think we had Panny's over here in the UK. Mainly Sony, and Pioneer. Sonys were totally garbage and VERY unreliable

Yes I don't recall seeing any Panasonic LD machines either, though they were quite early to market when DVD came around.
