I used to fly a lot in the 80s and 90s and USAir always reminded me of Walmart of the air and there was always something wrong with the plane. As I recall, there are a lot of crashes at LaGuardia airport missed runway approaches, snow on the wings, etc.. I remember taking off from Philadelphia to LaGuardia and we lost engines as we took off the flight attendant just sort of laughed and said brace- as we glided back down to the runway when we landed. They just left us there. Nobody came to get us.
The food looked nice! Wish i had the opportunity to experience it. I was lucky to get on a DC9-30 from Toronto to Cleveland in July 1991 after a flight from Manchester UK with Nationair. We got a drink but it was a short flight but wondered what the long haul-service was like back then from Gatwick on that 767
